If you submit a claim online with AHS, it's easy. The wait on the phone usually takes longer. Recently, the contractor came out for my dishwasher. It was throwing a code saying that it was leaking. He found out that the pump housing was leaking. He had to order a new piece and come in then put it in. For the most part, I have had a good experience with American Home Shield. I just purchased my home in May. My sister has American Home Shield, so that was why I went with the company. I signed up with AHS as soon as I bought my house. Recently, I had issues with the water heater. One of the tubes had burst. I went ahead and put the claim in with American Home Shield. It was pretty responsive. I got an email right away. We just moved in and American Security & Locks came to rekey my locks. They did a good job. They had given me two of the right key and one of the wrong key. So they came out the next day to drop off the right key. The claims process with American Home Shield was easy. The company pretty much came out the next day after I called. It wasn't very long at all.
I called the 800 number that American Home Shield provided with the service contract and told them that the dryer had quit working. They assigned the claim to a company. After they gave me the information, I called that appliance company but they said they could not come out for over a week. When they came, they were fine and they did a good job. Accord Appliances made a report that my refrigerator claim was already complete. But the only solution to them was to open my refrigerator and close it again. Also, the guy told me that he will order a part but I received a text, "Job complete." So, I reported them to Home Shield. Then I told them I don't want Accord anymore, but they already collected the $75 service charge. Everything went as scheduled with the contractor and he was on time. Everything has been working great since he went out. I have been with American Home Shield forever and I have no complaints, no desire to leave them or choose anybody else. I am one satisfied customer.
We called American Home Shield for a dishwasher that wouldn't work. The control panel went out. One day, it worked and we were here at the time. That next morning, it wouldn't work. The contractor was fine but they couldn't repair it so we're gonna do the buyout. We're happy with everybody. They've been easy to work with. I have another company back in Mississippi that we're using and the experience with American Home Shield has been better than that one. I just bought the home. The sellers paid for the home warranty, but I am so delighted to have it. When my washer drains, the drainage stopped up. There wasn't a lot of water to drain out. That's why we needed plumbing. I submitted the claim to Home Shield over the phone and it was extremely easy. Bubba's Plumbing came out and was able to resolve the issue. The reason why we keep Home Shield is because of how easy it is to file claims. We've had our refrigerator and dryer worked on. We've had our stove and a fan replaced. Recently, the handle broke off of our microwave in a freak accident. Clutch Appliance Repair has come out and worked on other things before. They were amazing. The tech just fixed the handle.
