It’s very easy to submit claims and have somebody come through with American Home Shield. However, they need to be careful about some of the people that they use. I used them before for my dishwasher, and I didn’t like the guy's service because he would tell me he fixed it, and then the same problem is still occurring. It's always very easy to submit a claim. They're very accommodating. Sometimes I request first for somebody that I already used, and they have the person. It's very good. In fact, I have a client that is gonna be purchasing a house, and I already said that I would be giving them a one-year of the subscription as a gift. But I'm having one issue right now with my dryer. The claim has been open for 15 days and they're waiting for parts. It's gonna be 21 days and they don't even know if it's gonna come. When we first got connected with these folks at the title company, they sent all the wrong information, the wrong telephone number, the wrong mailing address. That took a couple of hours out of my time to get that cleared up, waiting online for somebody at the main company. But once we connected with a technician, he came out in a timely fashion and it went well. Our home inspector said that the stove should be replaced. It was unsafe. Everything was okay with American Home Shield but the contractors were not so good. The first one came and fixed the garbage disposal but he did not take care of the water that was leaking in my cabinet, and he left. American Home Shield called another contractor and he came but he didn’t know what he was doing either. The lady that I spoke with was very nice. Stephen's Appliance came for the dryer and they did a very good job compared to Sears who canceled the appointment three times. That's why I called to ask for a change over a vendor. Stephen’s Appliance was perfect. They came on time and they did the job perfectly. We are very happy with them. They were very courteous and explained everything. I had the freezer in my refrigerator repaired. I normally call in to file a claim with Home Shield but I was kind of forced to go ahead and use the website. A tech came out and he seemed to be very knowledgeable. He went straight to the work and he had to order parts. It was during the time there was a storm out in the Gulf. A realtor suggested AHS when we purchased the home and so far, our experience with them has been amazing. When we put a claim in, the contractor called within an hour that same day to schedule an appointment. Then, they were there within the next day and they had the part the following day. They replaced the motor for the filter in the pool pump and things couldn't have gone smoother.
American Home Shield has been pretty great. Filing claims has been fairly easy and it's always great with their technicians. Sears came out for the refrigerator that had frozen up. I had to wait for it to defrost and it's now totally fine.
The refrigerator stopped working and Appliance Plus came right on schedule. They just had to order a part for it and then they came back out and put it in. Their tech had a mask and everything. American Home Shield has been great, thus far. Every time I call, I don't have a problem with them taking care of the problem and right away. It has been an experience that I recommend.
