My problem started with some plugs on my fan that were bad. Then one thing led to another. I called American Home Shield and said I have some electrical issues. The fan is working nicely after the service. But the tech put in some new outlets and they're real stiff and hard to get things in them. It's not his fault that the outlets are stiff. He said they make them differently now. But I'm very happy with everything. Everything was fine with American Home Shield. They were fabulous.
The washer was making loud, thumping sounds when in the spin cycle and it was coming up with failure codes. I went online and submitted a claim with AHS through the app. The app is awesome. Whenever I can't get through on the phone, the app works really well because AHS contacts me right away after that. Pinnacle Appliance Repair came out and they were awesome. The drip pan for the inside unit was rusted through and it was dripping water. I had a bucket collecting water, but I'd have to empty the bucket every so often. I called American Home Shield to submit a claim. The unit's a Trane, so we got the Trane part number, and Comfort First Heating and Cooling went ahead and they purchased the part. It's plastic now so it's not gonna rust. It took them a little bit to install it because of difficulty of the older unit. They had to drill out some rivets. It's fairly easy to submit a claim. I do them online but I also support with calling in to make sure that the information is neat. The one claim that we have submitted was for our water heater. The pilot light went out and they got it lit. Not a few weeks later, it started leaking so we had to call them back out and then it had to have some retrofitting. I submitted a claim for my AC. The contractors that AHS sent were nice, on time and were very professional. They repaired it. They had to order a part and come back. I was very pleased with American Home Shield. Everything went smoothly. They did what they were supposed to.
We're brand new with American Home Shield. It was the least expensive, and the first thing we've ever done with them is to have our pool issue looked at. I did the service request on the internet, and then Pure Pool Service came out. My son-in-law handled that situation, and as far as I know, it went fine.
American Home Shield is okay. I've heard so many horror stories. I was on the defense when I have to have a claim. It's like, "Oh, God. Am I gonna fight like everyone else? Are they gonna be decent and pay my bills like I need?" I had the air conditioner for my side and the furnace and the air conditioner for the tenant’s side done. My dryer wasn't working. I submitted a claim online to American Home Shield. The contractor ordered a part which didn't work so they had to order another one. It was three weeks until I got a second part in. Other than that, the techs who were sent were great and now, my dryer is working fine.
The AC quit working and American Home Shield got somebody out here the very same day. The guy from Excellence Air was out a couple of hours after I called and it was all good. I was very happy with who I talked to at American Home Shield and how fast they got back to me. We have an inground pool and Jacuzzi and AHS doesn't cover that. But everything else is covered.
