One of the problems with American Home Shield is not so much making a claim but getting someone out there in a timely manner. Where I live in Lake Havasu, Arizona, it's really hot. You kinda need like almost same day service 'cause you have no way of keeping your home cool and it's absolutely miserable when your AC breaks. My garage door opener sensor was reacting too much. I called in a claim to American Home Shield and the contractor they sent was excellent. He saw what the problem was in less than 50 minutes. He also did more service such as spraying, oiling and applying WD40. A sensor had to be pushed a little bit as it had gotten bumped out of line. The bathtub faucet handle was broken. I went online to file the claim and the website was informative. American Home Shield told me when the contractor would be coming out. My wife was at home when Sancho Services came and they did the job. Everything’s okay now. I just started with this home warranty and so far, so good. We'll see.
City First Electric came out for an issue with some of the outlets and the switches in a part of my house. Submitting the claim was really easy. The website was user-friendly and straightforward. I got on there and I was able to accomplish what I was trying to. American Home Shield got me in contact with the contractor and the contractor reached out. We've used American Home Shield twice for two different issues and we have not had any issues with them. They're reasonably priced and the web portal is easy to access. We did a claim when the front panel stopped working on our dishwasher. A serviceperson came out about a couple days later, diagnosed the issue and ordered the part. About a week after, the part came in. He came back and replaced it. He was professional.
We've been with Home Shield for 20-something years and my whole family belongs to them, so we're all very happy with them. They're very efficient, receptive, professional, and timely with responses when there's a problem. We can contact and speak to someone. Recently, we had a claim for the plumbing and the contractor that came out was great.
There was a leak on our old water heater caused by the rust. Our water heater needed to be replaced. I filed a claim online and Peak Home Performance came out. The contractors were very good. We've had bad experiences with American Home Shield in the past, but we have more good experiences. That's why we're still with them. Everything isn't always perfect.
When the air conditioner was turning off, it was making this loud grinding noise. My wife called in the claim and AHS set it up and everything went really smooth.
