Reading other posts here feels like a summary of my situation. (Sparta, **)I was overcharged by $1/gal for a fill this winter and decided to change. After complaining about the price, they credited to only $0.25 over the market rate (only slightly good thing to say).Then I had the tank replaced by another vendor and set by the side of the driveway. They have been awful. Every phone call is frustrating and resolves nothing. They always say they will send someone right away, and they never do. They have kept me waiting to finish the installation of my boiler. I have been asking for a cite inspection for a month. They made me send a copy of my mothers death certificate to put the account in my name - even though she passed away 8 years ago, and theyve been taking my money just fine. We purchased a home with an amerigas propane tank left on property by the previous owner! I called the local amerigas office and asked to have the tank removed from the property because it was no longer connected to anything on the property! The local office person said they would be out to remove the tank! One year later the tank was still sitting there no one ever came out to remove the tank! Dont be a customer it will eventually turn into a nightmare dealing with them. After years feeling they were ripping me off I bought my own tank called and ask where I could drop there tank off they told me I couldnt I would have to pay them 170 dollars to pick tank up. It took them 6 months to come and get tank. Every year since they send me a tank rental bill of 195 dollars that I have to spend how much time on phone try to get somebody to answer and explain to them that they picked the tank up years ago. These people take your money and never deliver gas. 3 rd time and said they would put on emergency delivery again never showed never called. Numerous calls. They tell you they wont give your money back. Dont use these people.
Quite possibly the worst experience I have ever had with any business. DO NOT USE AMERIGAS. ANY company is better than this. Our tanks were always on an auto fill ACH for payment. Without notification they took us off this method and our tanks became empty. Apparently when large propane tanks become less than 5% full, you can smell propane inside, seemingly like a leak. They tried to charge me $220 to come out and take a look at the tanks and identify a leak, only to learn that they were empty and they quoted 10 days to refi... read more
I am beyond done with Amerigas. I have moved and called to tell them that. The bill is to no longer be in my name but to be reverted back to the landlord. The propane tank was at the property I was renting from when I moved there five years ago. They told me they would need to come and get the tank and charge me $199.00 to do so. I told them I am not paying for them to come get the tank because the tank was already at my property when I moved there because it is a rental property. If i can give this company a negative star it would be gracious. I have called multiple times in the course of 3 months for a tank pickup and cancelling my account and no one has ever come to pick it up. I received a bill for tank lease that i don't use and late fees for a bill i should not be responsible paying as i am not using this tank and they have not come to pick it up. If I could give this company zero stars, I would. I have had nothing but trouble from them. I sold my house in **********, ** in May of 2022 at which time I called and told them I sold the house, asked them to please close the account, and I paid the remaining balance. They said they were closing the account and accepted my payment. Several month later they started to send me bills again.
