I've been a patient with them since early this summer and have had nothing but problems. If you go in because you're sick, they deliberately blur the lines of what's covered by insurance vs the cost of the tests/medications they order. Absolutely zero clarity or communication around this. Even if the costs are variable and they are not able to provide specific figures, they can't even give straight answers about what items covered by insurance vs what you have to pay out of pocket. I came to Avance seeking new pain management after my pain management doctor lost his practice after I was with him for 15 years. I saw him for chronic back pain having had 4 lower back surgeries, 3 shoulder surgeries, hip replacement, now osteoporosis, arthritis and gout and I need knee replacement and foot surgery. But none of this was enough to consider me for similar pain medications to what I had received for 15 years. They will cut you off cold turkey for no good reason. Now my life is back to terror and pain that is indescribable. They didnt follow the FDA guidelines for taper. Because of Dr. Stoia, the receptionist Carly, and Dr. Prakken I will have to be hospitalized for SEVERE withdrawal so i dont have seizures. I have filed a complaint with the state medical board.
