I'm not sure who is giving this company 5 star reviews as they don't even deserve a 1 star. I started a refinance request with Better.com on Aug 15,2019. They asked for a $550 up front payment to cover the cost of an appraisal. I made this payment promptly and now regret that i ever did. Tell them that you want underwriting approval for your loan before giving them a dime. In my case, my wife and I were simply trying to refinance an existing mortgage from 4.375% to a rate of 3.5% that was quoted by Better.com. I did not want... read more

Overall Better is great, they really don't charge any origination fee, which is very unusual, and really does help keep the costs down. So financially this was great. You will be handed off to different team members during the process, so although they are all very nice you may feel a bit of a lack of human contact. Great experience, very fast and very responsive. Communication was easy and often via text which is great. Would def recommend to younger buyers looking for modern way to buy a home vs the old school big banks.

This was my first time hearing about Better through ******** and **********. I was skeptical of the company offering one of the lowest rates at the time with zero fees compared to one of the many well known competitors who I started applications with but had average customer service and higher fees. I was very impressed with Better. As a first time home buyer I was shopping around with lots of mortgage companies but I am so glad I went with Better.
