Jacob R, Brandon O & Valery G - nice work! We closed on time with no unpleasant surprises. We are even more glad now that we went with Better Mortgage than we were when we first started. Jacob gave us a tremendous offer that no other lender could beat (and we talked with MANY). Then Brandon & Valery saw to it that the process was smooth throughout. They were reachable, responsive, courteous and professional. The web portal is also a very effective tool that kept us dialed in as everything progressed. Thumbs up!

I think the website and approach are the best hands down. Out of the eight companies I looked into Better was head and shoulders above in their website, process, presentation of the process, and rates. Frankly, it wasn't even close. It is incredible how slick the website is and how you could actually see the change in interest rates and points given or paid about every four hours. While the process was finally completed, significant stress and delays were manifested because of a terrible lack of communication and the processing agent not being on top of things. The process of uploading information to the site worked well, however, the lack of personal contact and feedback on specific parts of the documentation made the process harder than it needed to be.

Refreshingly streamlined. Amazingly efficient website and process. Responsive, professional and easy to reach staff. Reasonable and knowledgeable underwriting. You interact with many individuals like in an assembly line. Most of them are good to terrific. The first person quoted me the wrong rate. I needed a rental property rate not a primary residence rate which is lower. It was not fun when my rate increased on me. I even called early in the process to confirm the good rate. Was it a legitimate mistake? No idea. Lot more paperwork at the close per escrow loan officer. He could not get over it.

Excellent experience with Better to do a refinance. I was skeptical of using an online service instead of a bank. These guys were so much more efficient than any bank I ever dealt with. We were able to lock in a super low rate on the first day online and we closed within 30 days. The come right to your house for the signing of the closing documents. Our closing agent Jimmy Q* was wonderful.

This lenders process is completely computer driven. The employees, when you do speak with one, are inexperienced and untrained. Underwriting tasks and requests are generated, delivered, and received by a computer. No real people seem to monitor the computers work. I posted replies/request to the "system" for some unusual underwriting requirements for 5 days and never received a response from a person. The process may work for a pure vanilla flavored loan but is inadequate for anything else.
