Nothing special, but the food was pretty good. Bri was our server and she did amazing, she was funny and really attentive. The service was top notch! The waiting time was pretty lengthy, it took us an hour to get seated. Not sure if it is worth it the hype but I'd go back if the wait time isn't that long again.

Awesome place - great atmosphere and awesome food! The servers were very attentive as well. The open-face roast turkey was terrific! Only with they were a Coke shop vs Pepsi...

The good news is first. The rest of the table that had the chicken fried steak enjoyed it. Also, Assistant Manager Angie stepped up when I complained about our service. The pot roast was meh, and my grandson didn't like ribs at all. Service was atrocious and took almost an hour to get drinks and salads. The salads were fresh, although the dressing had the consistency of mayonnaise. Would I return? Yes, only because management does seem to care, and since they recently opened so hopefully, the "glitches" are temporary.

I've been twice now. Both times during the week, in the day time. Service was good both times. First visit I had the lighter side chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes. At best it was lukewarm, and as a native Texan I should have known better. It reminded me of public school cfs cutlets. Definitely wouldn't order again. Second visit I had a ham & cheese omelet. It was okay, but nothing special. Also not hot. What they call hashbrowns is weird and not tasty and the huge biscuits are super dry. Wouldn't have this dish again... read more

The decor is what you would expect for The Black Bear Diner. Rustic, mountain charm with the old time mom and pop feel. Service was good with one additional person to stop by to check on us. I ordered the Bears Choice breakfast. I chose 2 poached eggs, they came out a bit wet but cooked well, the mild sausage patties and the sweet cream waffle. All were very good. Then we had the Open Face Turkey sandwich. The potato's are mashed with skins, the turkey thin sliced, all topped with gravy. We would have again. The portions wer... read more

They haven't been open long, so the wait was 30-40 minutes at 9:30am on a Saturday. The service was outstanding. Fabiola was our server and she did a good job. But a few suggestions before you try this place. The coffee is great. Scrambled eggs were completely done but still moist. I got the home potatoes and they were great. I had the classic eggs Benedict. The poached eggs were poached hard. I like them medium so the yellow is runny. The hard poached tastes more like just hard boiled egg. The Italian patty sausage was not ... read more

i really wanted to like this place. The atmosphere is nice. Service was better than average. I ordered a Chicken Fried Steak Benedict and my wife ordered a Classic Benedict. Instead of poached eggs, we got over cooked almost hard boiled eggs and the hollandaise sauce while tasty was broken. Having said that, the rest of the meal was good. The potatoes were great. I gave it 4 atars because poached eggs and hollandaise are a little more technical and it seemed like the ingredients were quality so if you got something that... read more

There definitely a lot of hype about Black Bear Diner. So we took the advice and waited for a weeknight dinner time. Stopped by for dinner on a Wednesday around 6. No wait and only half full dining room. I have to say the inside is really cool. Almost like you're transported to a mountain cabin. The staff was also very friendly. Our waiter was Phillip and he was helpful and prompt checking on us and refilling our drinks. Kudos to not overcharging on drinks too. That was noticed. I ordered the Bears Choice breakfast with ... read more

Decided to try a new brunch place in town. I normally don't do brunch but there was so much hype with this one I had to try. There was obviously a wait, about 20-30 minutes, around 1:30pm on a Saturday morning. Not too bad. I ordered the blackberry stuffed French toast as it sounded so delicious and warm. It was disappointing. It's not a French toast but more like a hard croissants. The filling was pretty good but it was not what I expected. I should have read the description more. I ordered a chicken sausage on the side a... read more
