Super little diner with excellent comfort food. Service was friendly but not very quick. The atmosphere is nice so the wait was fine. They serve breakfast all day and they are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I had the meat loaf and the others had tri tip. All presented well and were delicious. Definitely recommend this place

I ordered a Chicken fried steak, it was a frozen premade chicken fried steak that was not good. I ordered fries and green beans with it, the fries were so salty I couldn't eat them. I wish I had ordered breakfast it looked good. Service was good. It was packed so there had to be something good to eat. My advise is learn to cook real chicken fried steak and serve dinner rolls in stead of muffin. We will try it again, we could have picked the wrong thing to eat. Will update.

we've eaten at this Black Bear Diner before with good experiences. This one, September 2025, was a big disappointment. We ordered to go at the reception desk including a baked potato with butter and sour cream. The butter and sour cream were left out of the order. We ordered a banana cream pie which was mostly crust and whipped cream with a little filling. the apple cobbler we ordered was only about half cooked when we got home. The pot roast was good as was the corn on the cob. I'm not sure if we'll be back.

I've been to Black Bear Diners from California to Texas. The eggs looked cooked on top ( over medium ) but below them they was VERY light and liquidy as in not cooked properly. The toast was under cooked and over buttered with green in it ( I'm assuming they used the same knife to cut avocados ). The fresh Orange Juice is good. For a $60 breakfast meal ( 3 people ) This Black Bear Diner is not trained properly in food serving. The kitchen does not seem to have a good handle on cooking. Co-Workers have told me about it here a... read more

The chicken fried steak was disgusting! It is exactly the same as 80's junior high chicken fried steak, that was served by a lady with a net on her head. Gross! I typically like the food there, but that was nasty!

Absolutely the world's worst wait staff in North America. I'm not certain management has a clue what is going on.

We ordered a pick up order over the phone. They forgot the $10 bear claw we ordered. When we got home and realized I called and they said all we could do was come get it. We didn't have time to come back that's why we ordered to go... they refused to refund me or be helpful in anyway.

I'm fairly disappointed in this venue. Each experience past the first became increasingly worse. This time was my final time coming in. I called in an order for two lamb chop and waffles, I drove across town to get it all to be told they had just run out of lamb choos and waffles for the day. They stated they attempted to call me, but I didn't answer, when in fact the host took down the wrong number. They did not offer to rectify my inconvenience with a "next time stop by it's on us.", which is sad. They basically said "oops ... read more
