the food was great and average priced. it was $48 for a dinner for 2, papa burger and a patty melt, 2 drinks. hubby and i went on a friday evening. overall great service by the waitress "Amanda"!! when we got there we got seated right away. our original waitress was not so great. was only there to take our order. when we asked for straws she did not bother coming back even though she passed by us many times. she had picked up the straws but never brought them back to us. after this she never came back to serve us either. The place is formulaic and has cheesy corporate look inside but the service was good and we enjoyed the food. I'll come back.

This is a new Black Bear Diner which has been open for two months. I am very familiar with the restaurants, having gone to many in several different areas through the years. We were a party of ten and the hostesses were very accommodating even though we arrived during the lunch hour. The waitstaff was very attentive as well. The dining room was nicely decorated in a woodland theme with black bears peeking out of the woodwork here and there. I had the Santa Maria Tri-Tip dinner which was served with two sides, a choice of so... read more

The food was good, large portion sizes. Cute decor, it feels like having lunch in a cozy cabin. Staff was friendly, many of the servers greeted my little ones while we waited.

We stopped in here two days after the grand opening. Prior to BBD, this location was the Sizzler restaurant and I must say BBD done a wonderful job remodeling the interior. We were here at 3pm on a weekday and it was busy probably because it was newly opened. My opinion is it's an upscale Denny's nothing spectacular or worth writing home about. I'm happy to see the vacant building being put to good use vs sitting empty deteriorating. Dinner was pretty good, I had salad and chicken fried steak and my husband opted for t... read more

Food is fresh, if it doesn't come out the way you want it Ryan the manage r, makes sure it's sent back and done right. He even cooks it himself to make sure it's 5 star. The service is exceptional. The restaurant is clean and staff is friendly and professional.

The wait time wasn't long despite it being full (party of 4). The service was fast so we got our food pretty quickly. Our server, Christina, was kind and on top of everything, props to her she was doing great.

First time dining at Black Bear Diner. Newly opened in Yucca Valley. The chicken fried steak eggs benedict was great! Host was kind, our waitress was very nice and our food came out quickly. The ambiance is cute, little gift shop as you enter. The only thing lacking was the wooden bears out front of the restaurant. The town of Yucca Valley just doesn't get it !
