Excellent service, food and friendly staff. very large portions too. couldn't eat it all. we will definitely be going back. nicely done upgrade to the building and nice addition to our town.

The spouse and I had never been to a Black Bear Diner, so we paid a visit to the recently opened location in Yucca Valley. They took over the previously vacant Sizzler location on Highway 62. This place is one of my favorite restaurants. I was so excited to get one in town. Don't let the bad reviews steer you away. This franchise goes way back. Being honest my food wasn't THAT great but everyone is new and trying to learn the menu. The service these guys are providing aready is top notch. Feels very homely and comfortable. Give this place a shot yourself before the reviews change your mind.. all of the other locations are spot on!!! YV Black Bear will get there :)
Food is great and the portion is so satisfying! The kids bear pancakes are so cute that even I want one! The waitress is friendly and everyone in the diner seems to be having a good time. It seems they are short on staff, though. We got here on Sunday morning for brunch, there were six parties waiting ahead of us while there were at least five empty tables in the back. I guess this place is just too popular!
the food was great and average priced. it was $48 for a dinner for 2, papa burger and a patty melt, 2 drinks. hubby and i went on a friday evening. overall great service by the waitress "Amanda"!! when we got there we got seated right away. our original waitress was not so great. was only there to take our order. when we asked for straws she did not bother coming back even though she passed by us many times. she had picked up the straws but never brought them back to us. after this she never came back to serve us either.
