Just relaying a friend's message from Facebook because I brag about Black Bear diner every so often on Facebook it's my favorite restaurant either in friendly or Las Vegas and Tucson. The Black Bear in YV has pretty good food, horribly slow service though. Gave me the wrong salad for my lunch and I patiently waited about an hour to get the taco salad I had ordered after they brought me a Cobb salad. service was horrible! we were taking a vacation and the service was horrrible no water refills our food toook forever and was super cold and our waitress was not attentive until it was time to pay the bill. i heard other customers being upset as well. honestly horrible dont waste your time getting food here try another spot and save your money. dry food and horribel service

Update. Black Bear did respond to my first review. I followed up with the email and info they asked for. They HAVE NOT responded. So it is just an instant reply. Shameful.

Took my wife over to Black Bear diner on Friday afternoon. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and fries with a drink. She ordered the 4-piece over cooked chicken special. Not so special in my opinion. We waited over 30 minutes for the meal to be served, not a big deal. However, when I receive my bacon cheeseburger I noted to the waitress. It was missing the bacon. Short Version: this place is like a Dennys so I'm not expecting the food to be top notch, however, I do expect it to come out hot or at the least luke warm. We had to send a plate back because it was literally ice cold and the chicken tenders were cold but my fries were barely warm. The service is okay, the waitress apologized but probably still wouldn't go back. It was not worth the $90. My husband made reservations for 7 on Saturday for Father's Day. The time waa12 noon. He called back and confirmed it later Saturday night. We arrived at 11:55 am and told it would be 20 minutes by the little Teddy Bear hostesses who can't do much without the manager Frank. I decided 20 minutes why wait. They weren't all that busy. Slow! Walked in and no one greeted us. Asked if we could just sit anywhere and the young girl gave us a booth. She brought us the menus and our drinks. You see one lady on her phone texting by the fountain drink dispenser instead of getting orders. A few families that were there before we arrived still hadn't been served. Terrible. We ended up walking out. Not the young girl's fault.

This review will include the good, the bad and the ugly of my experience at this location. I stopped for breakfast on a weekday at 10 AM, so it was not exactly rush-hour. First, the good. The restaurant is clean and nicely decorated. My request for over-easy eggs were done just right. The bad: the link sausages were bland and looked as though they had been "cooked" in the microwave. Came in for my mom's birthday, she got a free breakfast which was cool. we both got chicken sausage and i got avocado toast on rhy bread. (with my side chicken sausage) we both IMMEDIATELY got DIARRHEA. on her birthday!
