The estimator was helpful, talked us through a number of options, showed us what we were dealing with. The installer was on time, professional and cleaned up carefully. The recycled what they could of the old furnace as well.
They were very nice, friendly, helpfuland arrived on time. They did a good job and put in a thermostat for me, as well. I would use them again.
.On Saturday I called and talked to Ben, I told him our problem which was that the furnace would not stay on and heat continually. We had to keep resetting it, we had called the company who had installed it 18 years prior and they came out and said it was a smart valve which would cost $800.00+ to replace and that it wouldn't guarantee that it would work. We check on the internet for a smart valve and were able to find one for around $200.00 and was hoping that Black Lion could install the part if we purchased it. When I exp... read more
The service tech that came out was on time and polite. He did not try to upsell us anything. We have been having a problem with our furnace but during the time that he was here he could not identify what the problem was. He told us if we continued to have the problem and we could troubleshoot when the problem was happening it would be cheaper to identify. I appreciated the honesty.
Ben's installation team arrived promptly and worked quickly to dismantle our old furnace and humidifier, even though they encountered some problems with taking it all apart. Soon we had a new furnace! Ben came the next week to pay a personal visit as a follow up to check on things and answer a couple of questions we had. He even gave us some plumbing advice. Not excited about limping along through the rest of the winter with an undependable old gas furnace, I decided to use a ?coupon? special from Black Lion Heating and Air Conditioning featured in the Angie?s List booklet for the purchase of a new one. The offer was for a modulating gas furnace--a new concept to me. .Ben arrived on time on the appointment day to clean and check the furnace. He has gone a little extra mile by showing me the condition of the water heater tank which is next to the furnace. He gave me the estimate of replacing it. If I haven't already scheduled to replace the roof,I might ask him to do it .
