The experience is a classic sales technique. They have to talk to the boss about the price. They boast about being a certified BMW dealership that adheres to higher standards then other dealerships and they have a lot of fancy pamphlets. My main issue was that after I drove my BMW M3 home. I parked it in front my house, and a local Maryland Patrol Officer and friend of mine stopped by to look at the car. He noticed that my right front tire was missing two lug nuts. He informed me that it wouldn't pass a safety inspection lik... read more
Buyers be aware! Don't be confused by their "polite" "professional" disguise. This dealership is very sophisticated. I was going to buy a 5 series with low mileage and found SilverSpring had one 2011 loaner fits the best. First of all, Mr. Katzemburg failed to disclose a major repair done on the car. When I offered my price, Mr. Katzemburg promised to call me back after speaking to his manager. However, I never received any reply until I called dozens of times. What's the worst, when I decided to put the down payment and sch... read more
Business response:
I do apologize for any loss of time or confusion that we may have created for this client. I do stand by our reputation with regards to solid and accurate disclosures. Although we always start with a policy that the client is always right, we do not agree with the statements in this review. It is notable that we do return calls promptly, although regardless of how many calls one makes in a day, it may on occasion be later that day or the next day if an employee is out of the office. With Thanks, Larry Sevrin General Manager ... read more
This is a good BMW dealership in terms of selection, they also have a fairly good service department. However, buyers of CPO vehicles need to be very careful buying from them, because the CPO that I bought was certified yet it wasn't actually fully up to CPO standards. 1)The tires on the car were written as 3mm tread left but in fact they were below 3mm which would have required the dealer to change them. 2)They wrote that the brakes were in good condition. I took the car to another dealer and they immediately changed the re... read more
Had a service appointment was running late got to BMW dealership and signed in waited for one hour and was not seen. Front door man kept checking in on me, apologizing for the wait but Jack Barber was still not available. Finally Jack came back and was told I has been waiting for and hour by the receptionist and the front door man and his replied was" I was 30 min late" so the wait was my fault. He had decided to got to lunch and leave me waiting even though he was notified that I had gotten there before his lunch break. He ... read more
Ok, needed another rear tow hook cover..... and asked about painting it....its a $11 part which you want to charge me $50 to paint (is that the nominal fee you cited on 5/23/11 response to me)...because, "that's what they charged me" My doctor gets $35 from the health insurance company for an office visit and he spent 10 years in school..... how long are your body shop people in school to learn how to paint a 1" x 1.5 " piece of plastic?
I bought a CPO'd X5 from BMW of Silver Spring last August. Two months ago I started hearing a thumping noise from the rear suspension and I took it to BMW of Fairfax (because its closer to my house) to get it checked out. At first, the technician couldn't even replicate the noise so I had to take the technician for a drive so he could hear the noise. Then they told me it would take a few more hours to diagnose (I had already been waiting for 3 hours). After the few hours, I was told that they would need the car until tomorro... read more
Took our BMW convertable for a routine service and had to take it back 3 times to repair the damage the servicemen did to the car, including pierced leather upholstery and multiple scraches in both bumbers. They had to paint the back bumber but it came out visibly different color than the body, I am so disappointed. The value of my car dropped significantly after visiting at this dealership. I am beyond words. Unacceptable quality of repairs, sad but true.
Business response:
At BMW of Silver Spring, this is not what typically happens. On this day, the right thing was to address the client’s concerns. It is right for us to say to say that we did not do all this damage to a client car as this review might draw one to believe, we did not however do a great job of checking all the surfaces of this car when it arrived and thus the correct thing was for us to work with the client to make adjustments to his satisfaction. If history is an indication, we have left this car in a condition better than when... read more
The 'Autobiography' feature captured my attention right away. As an avid subscriber of reading reviews and digging into the history of a potential purchase, BMW of Silver Spring made my experience of buying a used 325i a walk in the park. Now add a friendly/knowledgeable sales rep into the mix and you have a satisfied customer. Manny was very keen on responding to my e-mails and setting up appointments for test drives. Joanna in Finance played a key role in finding a better rate than what my credit union offered. My advise i... read more
I recently (March 2011) took my 2003 BMW 745 Li (which was a certified pre-owned vehicle) in for service due to a noticeable oil leak. At this time, I had been taking my car to Tischer BMW of Silver Spring for about a year and had spent over $6,000 in repairs, the most I have spent on the car since purchasing it in 2006 with less than 30,000 miles on the car. Also, I took my car in for regular maintenance at certified BMW dealers from the time I purchased the car in 2006. I was advised by the service rep that there was a "si... read more
