UPDATE as of February 6th 2014 I am very happy to report that the management of this dealership TAKES THEIR REVIEWS SERIOUSLY!! Michael Fastman emailed me after my review and asked that I contact him. I sent him an email and that same day I received a phone call (love that over an email) from both Michael and Nan Wong. I was expecting their response to be lip service but instead I am very happy to tell you what I got were managers who owned up to the mistakes of the past (even though they predated them). Both Michael and Nan... read more

Thank you for your complimentary feedback of BMW of Silver Spring. We genuinely appreciate your business and thorough review. Your response is exemplary of why good customer service is an integral part of a company’s success. Thank you again for the wonderful feedback.
After paying $4000+ for an extended warranty that "is exactly as the original warranty, bumper to bumper and covers all", this dealer weasled out of 3 of 4 service visits claiming "not covered". On top of that their Techs kept my car for over a month at one time to clear some noise from engine, OVER A MONTH! Lately they did some repair work and charged me over $1100.00 for it. This turned to be a recall and BMW North America contacted me to get in touch with dealer for a refund, this dealer rejected refund citing that since ... read more
Sales associate promised to call about short term lease but never did. The car I test drove was not clean. Tis dealership seems to offer good deals but you should be lucky enough to get one at the deal price because the sales associate never calls you.

The car industry is a grimmy business and Tischer BMW is your typical dealership. Their service dept doesn't have a clue and can't stand by the quality of their repairs! If they can't fix your car's problem, don't be surprised if they blame it on you or condescendingly suggest that you don't know how to work the car.
During the latter days of 2012, I visited BMW of Silver Spring after several e-mails with Jacob Raykhel, one of its sales personnel/advisors, with expectation of furhering my education of pre-owned 750's, only. I really thought I would be buying elsewhere a 2009 BMW 750li, with modest mileage and virtually all options, and in impeccable condition with 8 months remaining on factory warranty. Jacob never offered the first reason why I should'not buy another car, and most professionally took a great deal of time merely going ov... read more

I was referred to Mike through the Navy Federal Auto Buying Program. Within 24 hours I received an automated email from the dealership's CA. I replied to CA with some specific questions relating to the 2013 3 Series and received no response. My wife and I were in the area a few days later and decided to drop in. Met with the CA and he seemed fairly nice and knowledgeable. Since it was close to closing time, we made a Saturday appt to come in and test drive the 3 and 5 series since we were undecided between the two. I email t... read more
Beyond deplorable, not worth a visit or even a drive by. As far as BMW dealers go, this is the worst out of the 25 I've worked with. Service is non-existent, staff aren't trustworthy, and it's truly just a huge waste of time even considering this dealership. I worked with three different sales associates to no avail. Fundamentally the sales associates have their own agenda and could care less what you are looking for or even actively listening to their customers. You will walk in wanting a car. They promise they have the car... read more

When I bought my first BMW from TATE, I had such a bad experience with them that I took that car to Silver Spring BMW. I always had good service and recommended Silver Spring to anyone for both Service and Sales. However I recently bought a new BMW 135! and had taken it back out to Silver Spring to get its first service at 18k miles. They told me that I would have to wait for the car which took from 730am to around 1130am. I had no problem with this. However at 20k the service light came on for the car. I called the service ... read more

My name is Ron Ptak. I am the service director of BMW of Silver Spring. I apologize for any inconvenience or misunderstandings during your visit to our dealership. Current BMW models require an oil change once a year regardless of mileage, even if your service indicator does not indicate the need for one. We did perform an annual oil change as recommended by the manufacturer. And, yes your service indicator could come on 2000 miles later requiring an additional oil service. As you know, these oil changes are performed free o... read more
I had a 7 series BMW that was out of warranty, I started taking it to SS BMW because it was closer than Russell, what a mistake, I think the first time I took it in was just for a oil change, very simple, well within 3 days it needed to go back for a service light that came on, this went on for six months, every time I brought the car home, something else went wrong with it within a week. Thomas was always very pleasant and most of the time offered to pay for labor, I just needed to pay for parts, after many trips back and f... read more
