My group all thought it was very expensive for what it was. I had a piece of fish which as about $40-riduculous! The fact that a steakhouse did not have french fries was unacceptable to our kids. I felt like they gave us a table way far away in a side room becasue we had two kids with us (aged 12) which offended me. There is too much choice in this category for them to get me back.
Very overpriced.I especially resented the $10 valet charge. This is not a "downtown" restaurant. Food was also excessively expensive.
Our dining experience was a huge disappointment. We had high hopes as one of our favorite restaurants in New York is part of the same restaurant group. After we were seated, 20 minutes passed before our waitress appeared. She was not well-versed as to what the bar stocked. After a long wait, our drinks arrived and we ordered appetizers, which arrived in a timely manner and were good. We ordered dinner and our waitress struggled with our menu questions. A bottle of wine was ordered which took a very long time to arrive at our... read more
What a huge disappointment. A request for a special birthday dinner with a water view was ignored, the waiter was physically there but mentally someplace else. Horrible horrible experience. Felt like we were sitting in a side alley. Waiter totally disconnected and inattentive. Food was ok..big joke with the water. Asked if we wanted tap or bottled, requested bottled and it showed up in a reusable bottle (it was tap in a bottle)....
Very poor value. The food presentation, a slab of meat on a dish, did not command the price. The special I ordered did no match the description. The flavors were mediocre, ranking roughly a $25 meal in my experience, not a $60 head (without bar tab). Topping off the evening was a visit to an untidy paper ridden the lady's room. Yes it was a packed house on a Saturday night, but after a $350 meal for 4 I had far higher expectations.
Overall, I was disappointed. Very expensive, food okay but greasy, potatoes cold, menu limited. View was nonexistent. Arugula salad was good, but again, very expensive.
This reservation was made three weeks earlier in anticipation of my mother's 75th birthday. I had placed my seating preference in the system (a decent table with a view because it was her birthday) and had hoped that because the reservation was made in advance they could accommodate us. When we arrived, I reminded the maitre' d of the reservation to which he responded "we'll see what we can do". We waited another 15 minutes for a table with no view that allowed sunlight to peer down on everyone from the window above that had... read more
Wanted to have a nice dinner for my husband's birthday before going to see OVO. Maitre'd never looked at our reservations, seafood only and special occassion. Seated near kitchen. Waiter provided other tables better service (bread, dessert, name, etc.) Had to ask for bread and bill. Didn't finish dinner asked for dessert menu (tray/platter), waiter took it to the table next to us. Never offered dessert or the cookies the other guests were offered. Another waitress giving out lemon monticello, saw the puzzled look on my face ... read more
