We actually had to waive our hands in the air to get the maitre d's attention. Our waiter took 45 minutes to come over to our table after taking our order, and our food came after an hour.
I have been going to Cafe Fiorello for years. We go before or after the ballet. It is so convenient and the food used to be very good. The last few times we have gone the food has been uneven. Last night was the worst and it is unlikely we will go again. I had been fasting all day so that I could eat the lasagna. Food premade
We had the worlds worst waiter and that he was attentive to other tables using our carafe of water, our salt and pepper, etc. Worse, after we ordered, the food arrived in under 30 seconds. How were we supposed to enjoy our wine? Was the food cooked five hours prior just waiting for people to order it?
I've been coming here for 20+ years. The service was lackluster, slow and just ok. They forgot som of our items, bought over red wine when we ordered a pinot grig and were rushing us out of the table. Not their best moment.
I don't consider Fiorello on the same level as the other Fireman restaurants, but certainly a better average. However, last night the service was awful. The restaurant was busy, but not crazy. We were given an excuse that our pizza was burned twice and that is why it came out so much later than the rest of our dinner. By the time it was served the rest of the dinner was cold. The apology was halfhearted. I go there often for breakfast and lunch too, but now I am sort of turned off. Felt were pretty much ignored by the staff.
Food, especially the anti-pasta bar, is not what it used to be! Sad.
1 minute after they put down the appetizers they brought over the main course. We had them take them back. They just want to turn over tables. Don't go here if you want to relax and sit and enjoy your meal..
Food was not prepared as ordered. Pasta with VERY little butter was drowning in it. No grilled chicken. Ran out of vegetables. Campari and soda came with no soda. Place is backed so service is poor. It is a mad house on Saturday dinner.
