The restaurant menu claimed to have gluten free items and when we ordered a meatball soup and the waiter confirmed that this was a gluten free meal, after a 45 minute wait the soup arrived with a piece of bread in it as well as farro. They could not confirm whether the food could have been cross contaminated and therefore my friend left the restaurant hungry, unable to touch any of the food they claimed to be gluten free. Disappointing experience. The manager compensated our meal.
The restaurant was very crowded and the Mayr d kept saying in a minute or 2 I will seat u It definitely took a lot more than a minute or-two We had tickets for the opera and so felt very rushed through our meal Although the meal was pretty good it was on the cold side and we did not have the time to get it heated since we were seated well past our reservation Not a relaxing experience for a costly meal
The service was bad and the pasta and lamb dish we have made us sick the next day. We will not be back
My dish was terrible. I really don’t know how you can mess up a Rigatoni a la Vodka. Also incredibly overpriced and NOISY.
For one hour we were the only people on the restaurant, and the service - both from the waiter and the time taken to cook food in the kitchen - was extremely slow.
Food is ok and it's convenient to Met Opera but it is overcrowded with small tables and little room to sit. Overall not a quality dining experience.
Just plain bad. Poor quality food. Inedible soup. Side order of potatoes that didn’t come, then after asking twice about it, came cold. Chicken dish swimming in grease.... I could go about the ‘zero-star’ experience but not worth it.
The service was really poor. It took ages to get attention of a server. After the main course and over a 20 minute gap I got up and put our plight to a manager. Only then did we get our coffee and We were so late that there was no time for a dessert before the show would begin and we needed to be seated.
The chicken Parmesan arrived lukewarm. The accompanying pasta just a blob of gluey tepid spaghetti. Since it took nearly 40 minutes to serve I assume it was left to sit for awhile. I waiter offered to remake it but if course he knew that wasn’t an option. Everyone was on their way to Lincoln Centre or Carnegie Hall for shows. No offer to take the cost of the spaghetti off the bill. Or a cup of coffee. They must have thought we were one time tourists. No, so we will discontinue going there.
