Power outage, no fault of the restaurant!
Just not what it used to be. Food and service v average. Atmosphere mirrored the chaos of Penn station on a Friday afternoon in the summer. Somewhat busy to be fair and the extra pressure on staff and kitchen with the sidewalk open (more guests) makes it harder. Certainly was crowded so they should be doing ok financially and may not care. Used to be my fav UWS spot; in search of another.
I’ve not been to Fiorello in a awhile and noticed immediately the menu was the same as Bond 45 which I found to have a limited menu and poor tasting food However, I stayed in hopes that being uptown would improve the quality of food It did not! Need I say more? With the many choices in the area, this restaurant is off my list
The waiter was just terrible. He insisted on loudly telling my guests the the glass of wine was $22. None of his business what the food or wine costs
A water glass and a fork were dirty. Bellini had a bug in it. When I told the staff, they asked if I wanted anything else and I said just a sprite. It came in a glass with lipstick on it. AND they charged me for it. When I said something, they comped that and my husband’s drink and brought us limoncello. We used to go every month but after this, not sure I’ll be back.
Really weird vibe. We had a party of 12 and the service was lackluster at best. Glasses were a little dirty and when we asked for it to be rectified, the waiter poured the wine from the dirty glass into a clean glass. Ugh. . It was fairly depressing inside. Staff seemed disgruntled in general. Disappointed since this was a special event and we took a chance on Fiorello's cafe.
We had dinner here on Mother’s Day and everything was excellent, so we decided to go back. It was as if we had gone to a different restaurant. The service was the worst part and made the whole experience so bad that I will surely rethink returning and warn everyone I know. Horrible service. Cold bread, and olive oil is provided only on request and taken away without checking. The server couldn't give one recommendation. And the food was below average.
The food was not up to standard. Had to get up several times and get wait staff. Used to frequent this restaurant and it was not up to its own standard
