Our shared appetizer and main courses arrived at the same time. We didn't enjoy the cold 5 vegetable appetizer, because it made sense to eat the hot main course, as soon as it arrived. The waiter apologized, however, we were sorry we didn't send the main course back. Our concern was the food would arrive cold or reheated and perhaps dried out. They want your table. You’re out in under one hour. You’re squeezed in and it’s very very loud
I usually have a good experience at Fiorello, but this was disappointing. Brunch on Memorial Day Monday turns out not to be very popular. No theater on Monday, few customers, a very indifferent waiter who despite a lack of other customers rarely appeared at our table, and the meal I ordered, from the antipasto board, was actually bad. The brussel sprouts were seriously overcooked and dry, and the garnish consisted of two olives, compared to the usual robust additions.
We’ve been here several times and everything was lovely. Last Saturday, not so much. Drink order was messed up, dinner order had to be changed three times because they were out of things. And upon receiving our food (we were 6) it was without exception over-cooked and certainly not worth the price. I would hope that this was the exception.
Terrible terrible terrible.
Not a good night at Cafe Fiorello. We booked a 5:30 reservation for pre-theater at Lincoln Center - thinking it allowed plenty of time for dinner before the 7:30 performance across the street. We barely made the performance on time. The waiter mixed up our first course - simple selections from the antipasto bar. It took forever to get our main course. We have been there many times and loved it. This time they put us in a dark corner facing walls and took forever to get service. My food good but my husband’s fish quite fishy’s
We have always loved Cafe Fiorello in spite of the fact that it always receives mediocre reviews. When we lived in NYC from 2000 to 2004 we went frequently to Cafe Fiorello. Alas, the restaurant has definitely fallen off in quality.
We were there to celebrate a friend's 89th birthday. We had a 430 reservation so it wasn't busy yet. We ordered the zucchini appetizer and the meatball appetizer. Neither was hot and between cold and warm. The meatballs were mushy. We rarely saw our waiter and we're discouraged so we did not order dinner. We were there last year for the birthday celebration and it was good. Would not go back.
