NEVER order from the vegetable buffet at 4:30. The food was dry and under the hot lamps for far too long.
Disappointing
Our family has loved Cafe Fiorello since the late 70's. It's always been a treat to eat there. Sadly this time we were disappointed. We were a party of five. Three guests had poached eggs as part of their orders and all of them were overcooked - barely runny in the center. One guest ordered the artichoke omelet which was misnamed. It was more of a frittata, and not a good frittata. It was overcooked and dry on the outside but raw in the center. After two bites, it was abandoned. The most shocking thing about the meal was tha... read more
We were seated in the back at the first table for 2 on the left so my view was into service and each waiter's trip was an exercise in not losing anything off the table. But it was quiet enough for conversation. My order of linguini with clams should have been sent back. The pasta was dried out (heatlamp?) and stuck together in one baseball-sized clump. At the margins, I could pull off some strands but the main serving was a single, solid mass without any sauce, oil, or way to eat it. The thin sauce in the bottom of the bowl ... read more
We have dined at Fiorello's many times and, aside from being crowded and noisy, have had satisfactory experiences. Not this time. I always order chicken here and, early in the evening, they "ran out of chicken!!???" I was "forced" to order their lasagna which turned out to be an overcooked pizza with a very thin layer of pasta (I always avoid pizza). In addition, the fried artichokes appetizer was extremely salty. Very disappointing (and expensive)!
This was my go to restaurant for Lincoln Center. On this particular evening, food was cold, repeatedly sent back to warm, coffee was cold, manager annoyed. Meal was finally removed from bill. Very disappointing
We booked a table for a post -ballet dinner. The restaurant is right opposite the Lincoln Centre so we were pleased with our choice on a very rainy night. However, the welcome here was non existent. No smiles, we were just led to our table. The restaurant is nicely lit and the environment is really relaxing with soft lights and attractive decor. But nobody smiles here. The young waiter who was assigned to us was polite but unsmiling. Bread was placed on the table without a word by another waiter- not a word to us or a smile.... read more
We have dined here many times so I was quite disappointed in the quality of the food this visit. I ordered roast chicken which turned out to be 2 small pieces of chicken swimming in a greasy broth if some sort. The vegetables were over cooked and greasy and the chicken was dry and tasted of pure salt. Our vegetable appetizer was not as good as in earlier visits. Honestly one of the worst meals I have had in a restaurant. Very disappointing, will not be returning.
Mediocre food for too high prices (the 'Manhattan syndrome'). Pros: location is convenient near Lincoln center.
