The service was not good and the food was just ok. There are better Italian restaurants in NY. Overrated!!!!

Disappointing this visit because kitchen, or waiter couldn't get us our food in a timely way. All the folks outside on the sidewalk were frustrated and mad which was unforgiving because they were trying to get to a 6pm curtain at The Metropolitan Opera. Should not have been so difficult at that hour to make it happen???? Then, there was no real concern or ANY accommodation by the management??
Waited almost an hour past our reservation time to be seated.
There were 6 gals for dinner and 2 of us ordered the branzino and specifically asked the waiter if the fish was deboned. The answer was yes, however both dishes were full of bones. One gal wasn’t happy but didn’t tell the waiter, while the other gal told the waiter that she couldn’t eat the fish as served. She asked him to please just bring her a small piece of deboned fish and that she would eat the vegetables and potatoes that were given to her. We have enjoyed several excellent meals at Fiorello, but this Saturday brunch was not a success. It's a pleasant, buzzy place, service is excellent, but the food this time was sub-par. What I took to be a kind of blueberry focaccia was underbaked and doughy and my omelette was wet with uncooked egg. The table next to ours, served a little after us, sent theirs back, which is what I should have done. Despite the pleasant "dining experience," no restaurant deserves a "good" rating if the food is poorly prepared.
i ordered the 3 veggie plate. have had it gazillion times. this time was ineatable! horrible.
We were seated for 20 minutes and no one ever came to our table to offer water, bread, take drink orders...NOTHING!!! I usually get good service but not this time. We left and went next door to The Smith. Much better experience there.
We felt like cattle being herded getting in and interacting with the wait staff. The fried Artichokes were not dressed properly, like eating thistle. The Pizza was quite mediocre and the pasta was dreadfully under seasoned and tasteless. The house Chianti was lousy with tannin. The staff bringing the main course deliberately didn't clear the appetizer dishes for some reason leaving no room to comfortably eat, perhaps doing us a favor.
