Cesar salad was terrible
Poor service, food served very late and wasn't that good, hard to carry on a conversation because of the noise level, barely make it in time to our concert across the street. Had been to Cafe Fiorello a couple time before with satisfactory results. My guest and I were quite stressed by the delays and poor service. Don't plan to return, especially before a concert.
Food has really gone downhill. I love Fiorellos, esp for the ambiance. Food used to be much better. The ravioli seemed out of a box. This has been my experience for the past couple times there.....not just last wk. Food seems very ordinary now (main courses). Lemoncello tart always great.
Very disappointed this time. Café Fiorella is always the choice prior to the Met. Our experience was not good. Seating was over-crowded and we were in everyone's way. My guest was ambushed by wait staff and had a plate of food dropped on her. My special of Fettucine Lobster Fra Diavolo was a ball of pasty noodles and the flavor of the lobster meat tasted like burned, smoked wood. It was the worst meal I ever had in New York City in my lifetime. Snobby waiters. Not returning there.
We ordered the antipasto . And a salad. As part of the antipasto We ordered beans and escarole. The server brought us only the beans. They were out of escarole!. Replaced it with terrible asparagus. Overall the food was terrible. We have had this meal many times before and this was the worst ever. It ruined a great night after the opera.
Food was good - liked the vegetarian options available for either appetizer or a meal. We went before the opera and it was extremely crowded and tightly packed. My husband and I were seated between a couple tightly cramped into a corner and a table of a dozen women who were shouting to each other and squeezing , one-by-one to get out for the rest room. Réservations were not honored! Waited 45 min. And still were ignored!
Tables were very tightly spaced and every time someone passed by me, I was hit. The food and service was okay so it wasn’t worth getting hit. I will not go back!
What I ordered was tasteless. It was salmon.
