A madhouse pre-theater/concerts at Lincoln Center. Crowded, noisy, not appealing. Try the sister restaurant near Carnegie Hall -- Trattoria Dell'Arte -- much better and you can hear your dinner companion without shouting.
The food was fantastic. It was the only saving grace about the restaurant. There was hardly enough room to be seated or walk to your table. We were first seated at a table where waiters and servers had to lean awkwardly around our seat to enter in orders from tables around us. Then moved to the window/bar area where we could hardly hear each other talk and barely had enough room to sit comfortably between two other tables. We hardly saw our waiter at all and were assisted more so by busmen than the waiter. It took 20 minutes... read more
Place is overcrowded to the point of uncomfortable. Tables are tiny and jammed together. Menu features very rich main courses. Overall not pleasant or relaxing experience!
Servie was horrible and I am one who very rarely complains. First of all, before giving orders I asked server if we could have separate checks and he said that would be fine. Our meals took well over 30 minutes to arrive even though people all around us were getting theirs. In fact the manage came over to apologize. Waiter ignored us — very disappointing as I was trying to impress a friend after seeing Elektra at the MET. No bread delivered to table; no offer for a second drink; had to ask for water glasses; dessert was the shared chocolate mouse — but not enough was given to us to share. Sad since I’ve always enjoyed this place in the past.
If You like crowded and noisy, with mediocre food, Brunch at Cafe Fiorello is the place to go. Personally, that's not for me, so I'm not likely to take another chance there. Too bad. It's been a go to choice before Lincoln Center for years, but... sometimes things don't stay the same, and that's too bad.
My breakfast experience here was quiet and lovely. Dinner was loud and crowded, but still a nice atmosphere. Our dinner took over 45 minutes to come out after ordering. The food was good but the wait took away from our dining experience for sure. Our server was great - very attentive and kind.
It was mainly the food. I just thought it was poor. Our waiter (who sings Opera and was amazing) said that people raved over the pizza - and I thought it was a step above pita pizza. The antipasto bar was kinda the same. I had no desire to finish my plate. The service was wonderful, though! I don't know the name of the host that night, but he was very sweet and wanted us to have a nice table because it was our first time. And our waiter, as I mentioned, was amazing and answered all our questions and was just really friendly.... read more
