It is not my first experience in this place, that strange things happen.. Waiter nice, but there since some days (I don't know why, but I get there every single time a "new" waiter), so for questions he had no answer. Long waiting time. Bill was "by mistake" 40 $ too high. After signing credit card bill this was discovered... so the waiter came back and wanted me to sign another credit card bill with the 40 $ lower price!! I had to call the manager to receive a void for my first bill, which was handed me in a not very friend... read more

Good Italian food is great ingredients, simply prepared. So why can't Cafe Fiorello do a better job? Capers in the tomato sauce? Deconstructed lasagna? Meatballs as over-spiced hockey pucks? The place has terrific servers and a location that is the envy of many a restaurateur, but the food is sorely lacking.

we came in and were seated in a nice round table. We ordered a combination (3) anti-Pastas. You could barely see the items on the small plate. Sorry we did not order each separately and pay the extra few dollars. Who is cheap here???? The waitress frowned when we told her that we would not be using the wine glasses. My daughter requested a well done salmon it came medium rare. It took a while to get it cooked further as the waitress did not come back to check on how we were doing after we received the food. Nevertheless my m... read more

We arrived at 5:45 PM, comfortably early for an 8 PM Lincoln Center concert. Although we told both the person seating us and the waiter that we had Lincoln Center tickets, we waited more than 1/2 hour for our orders to be taken, 15 minutes after that for wine and salads to be brought, and another 40 minutes for food to be served -- and that only happened because we called the maitre d' over. To make the concert on time, we had to call for the check without coffee or dessert. What should have been a pleasurable and leisurely ... read more

Popular restaurant. Service was good. Food was OK. I had branzino which was so small and thin that I was still hungry after the few bites it took to finish it. My husband had a seafood dish in tomato sauce which had shrimp, mussels, and lobster in the shell. It was quite messy to eat because the lobster was in the shell in the sauce which he did not expect.

The location was nice and the food was decent. The waiter spoke more to my 8 year old daughter than to the adults, creepy. We ordered a bottle of wine with dinner and despite the fact that the waiter was literally hovering behind our booth he never once refilled our glasses after the first pour. There were paper table cloths, not very classy and disappointing especially given the prices. When I made our reservation I noted that someone in our party was celebrating a birthday, it was not acknowledged. Overall, not worth it an... read more

They use to be a lot better only a month or so back. I would always order the grilled whole Branzino... it use to be perfect. Now it's consistently overcooked after three new reservations. The 2nd and 3rd time I specifically asked to be certain it's not overcooked. The 3rd time I was told "they're busy but he'd ask for VIP attention." I don't expect the need for "VIP" stature to simply get a fine meal... and especially for a higher price than normal due to its location and ambience. So sad... overpriced but a fun place... sk... read more

Cafe Fiorello is a neighborhood favorite, but our experience was so negative that we will never go back. Our waiter was extremely rude and unprofessional, and 4/5 meals we ordered were not available because the restaurant had run out of common items-ravioli, mushrooms, other vegetables. We were then suggested other meal options that were in edible.
