Questionnaire is tilted to good review. How about "deafening" for noise level---or at least "too loud"---"energetic' has a positive connotation. Also, the only dish I ordered was the pasta bolognaise--no appetizer, no soup, no salad, no vegetables---this was my dinner. The portion--for $35-- was miniscule and ridiculous! Took way too long for food to be served to table. Too loud and crowded - not my cup of tea.
A surprisingly bad experience at a Fireman Group restaurant. We were seated for 10 minutes before a waiter arrived. We had to ask for straws for our drinks. Bread was served without butter or olive oil. My filet mignon Piemontese had the metallic taste of beef that has been reheated or cooked from frozen and was presented so unattractively ( a blob of meat accompanied by 6 scraggly looking pieces of roasted potato ) it hardly justified the 40+ dollar price.
Even with a reservation, we were led to one bad table after another until they provided a decent one on the fourth try. They were very courteous about it, but why did they show us one bad table after another? Is it because they did not recognize us as regulars? We will think twice about returning.
Mussels are steamed in a lobster stock with crisp string beans floating in the broth. No fries, instead focaccia for soaking.
Not worth the trip! When a Daniel Boulud restaurant is right next door, go there! The service was terrible, the food not cooked properly, and the overall experience extremely disappointing!
Inefficient Front Desk: I (older female) announced myself by name and time of reservation and was taken to a dark table close to the podium; clearly the greeter did not mark off my reservation since when my guest arrived, she was taken to another table. Dined here numerous times and regularly disappointed
I made lunch reservations for three as I had an important business meeting with an author and a consultant. The food took a long time to arrive and my hot plate contained a wilted and overdone entree. l had great expectations but we were largely ignored and the food was disappointing.
