The prices have risen, the quality has fallen. The food which years ago was reasonably acceptable is now of such poor quality, we will probably not return. Location, location, location is the only reason for this restaurant's success. It is certainly not the quality of the food which draws the crowds.

We've always loved Cafe Fiorello for pre-opera dining, but it was a huge disappointment this time. Sloppy service: I asked for mozzarella in the antipasto, which the waiter promised but did not deliver, my dessert wasn't what I ordered and I had to wait too long for them to correct it, and our tagliatelle bolognese was gloppy and stuck together in a lump, and the sauce was dry, very unlike the excellent dish we are used to. Big disappointment. Appetizer salad was good, espresso and lemon tart dessert were excellent, but veal marsala main course was dry and tough.

We found the service to be pleasant and enjoyable. There is a lot going on with the staff and the sound seems to just surround you making conversation difficult. Additionally, the food was overpriced. Definitely not a place for foodies or those looking for a quiet evening.
This was the third time we came to the restaurant, specifically to try the vegetarian veal Parmesan that is on the menu. They were out of it during the first two visits. Our first question to the waiter was, "do you have the veggie veal parm?" and she said yes. 10 minutes later she comes back and says that they're our of it and tells us that they are always put of it. For the quality of the restaurant, the service was indifferent and poor. Took a while to get waited on initially, also. Front desk staff, however, was very good.
I was very disappointed with my recent meal at Cafe Fiorello. I have dined there for years, particularly when going Lincoln Center events. While never a "wow" meal, food was good -- not the other night. Specific reasons for my disappointment: the Caesar Salad used to be larger and more tasty; I got what I would refer to as a "side salad" and it had too much dressing -- the price did not change to reflect size reduction.
