Steer clear of this practice unless you want to deal with up-selling at every turn. I have found the doctors mostly pretty good, but this is a business which exists to shake you down as much as possible before you ever get to an actual vet. My elderly dog was very anxious when they insisted he come in without me during the pandemic. They were only able to weigh him, but charged me for a full office visit. I allowed it because I needed his preventative meds renewed. The next visit they wanted me to sedate him. I asked for an ... read more

This vet clinic does not communicate consistent prices for visits. The vet, Dr Newman, in a discussion even told me that their prices are subjective and even contradicted himself in a circular conversation about the application of a good pet discount. How can I trust the care of my beloved pet when the vet himself is contradictory in application of their own policies and pricing. This location has poor business practices. With poor business practices I can't in good faith trust them with my pet.

Please save your pet and DO NOT go here. I took my dog here for a few years and there was a few head scratchers but alarm bells hadn't rang (suggested a brain surgery might fix a side effect of a skin allergy). Recently I've get diagnosed my dog with cancer. When we went to the oncologist he said they never checked for cancer and the labs they ran didn't leave him with a cause for concern but due to the circumstances a surgery was still required to investigate further. The stitch job was terrible and the wound quickly beca... read more

I have used this Animal Hospital for almost 15--16 years. As we moved to Oakton a few years ago I used a local vet due to the long commute. Yearly though I got my USDA International Health certificate through them for travel abroad. Overall their service is good, but a few days ago I got the surprise of my life as I applied for another certificate and found out they charge now a flat fee of $800 (!!!!!) plus $202.00 for a short examination and filling out 5-6 pages. That did not include shipping charges back and forth to US... read more

Their website says they're a leader in the "Fear Free" movement, and promises to avoid scruffing unless it's "necessary for human safety." Yet, on two different occasions, despite the fact that my cat was completely calm and had posed no threat to anyone and was being held by me, the technician grabbed the animal tightly by the scruff. I had to ask the technician repeatedly to stop. I will not take my pet back unless I can be in the room during treatment.

Business response:

Thank you so much for the feedback. Caring Hands does pride ourselves in having a fear free environment and are disappointed that your experience was not as expected. If you would be willing our manager at this location would love to speak with you about this experience and how we can handle things in the future. Please feel free to reach out to the location and ask for the Practice Manager so she can gain more insight.

This should be called cold hearts not caring hands! I visited to check my kitty before her spaying surgery. The vet (Dr. Brook) and I agreed on three medications and we ran a blood test. She suggested for the cat to wear a onesie and collar after the surgery and that was helpful and deserves a star But, I was not provided with the details of the medications thinking they will save it for the surgery day. Another vet (Robison) did the surgery and he used different medications. I had to ask for the extra pain killer we agre... read more

This is the worst veterinary clinic I have ever been too. They do not care about your pet and they are more interested to take your money. Truly upsetting at the attitudes of some of the technicians and the how they don't care to read the chart on your pet before they call you. When an owner says no, they mean no. It should not take them three times for the technician to understand no. The doctor that starts with a D doesn't care enough to call and speak to you about your pet. She sends the incompetent tech. Then says we ha... read more

Business response:

I have been a patient/customer of this office for 10 years, and i have to say what i experienced today is by far the worst vet service i have ever received. I dropped off my cat at 730am for an all day glucose curve and waited outside for 30min for someone to come out and grab him. When the technician came out, she asked a bunch of questions about what was going on with my cat, and i explained i wrote very detailed notes in the Vitus Vet app they always said we should download for scheduling pet visits, communicating with ... read more

If you're having to come back to this place multiple times to get the right diagnosis/medication, it's because this place figured out a way to make money off of you. Also, this place is run by regular staff as in, THERE IS NO FULL TIME VET AT THIS OFFICE to answer any of your concerns. May 12 - $319.00, blood and urine samples taken. May 14, Dr. Dennehy called me to let me know that she "thinks" my dog has UTI and prescribed Clamavox. I had to chase someone from this office to send the prescription to Costco so that ... read more
