I took my newly-adopted dog here based solely on Yelp reviews. I would give this place 5 stars, but don't think it's fair after just one visit. Thanks Yelpers! I took my 4 year-old dog here for her first exam after adopting her. Making an appointment was extremely easy, the employees were friendly (especially the techs!) and the veternarian didn't mind answering all of my questions. I am really happy with Caring Hands Hospital so far. We brought our little puppy to them yesterday. It's great that they're open on both Saturdays and Sundays, which helps tremendously when both puppy parents work fulltime. The tech was incredibly sweet and the vet was very kind and gentle with our little pup. The people there clearly seem to love animals and have been very helpful, even offering to fax over a document for us to the breeder and making a follow up phone call today to make sure that our puppy reacted well ... read more

I started going to Caring Hands a little over a year ago. I use to go to the VCA Hospital in Old Towne until I figured out that Caring Hands not only cares about my dog, who is my life, but my wallet as well. They are literally $30-$40 dollars less that VCA and for bigger things $hundreds of dollars less. I've always received great service and the doctors have an energy that my dog loves. I have been taking my 4-legged critters here since I moved to the DC area in 2003. Caring Hands is absolutely magnificent!!! Having 3 kids, I've seen many of the doctors here and have always been pleased. The front desk staff is always pleasant and welcoming as well. There are times when I have had to wait quite a bit of time past my appointment time to actually be seen. These veterinarians know what they are doing!! I brought my dog Lexie into CHAH after taking her to another vet in the area.I wanted to bring her to CHAH in the first place but they had no available appointments and Lexie seemed pretty sick. The other vet thought Lexie had a UTI, prescribed antibiotics but also ran a host of unnecessary tests without obtaining adequate consent and then charged me a lot. I have been bringing my pets to this vet for almost 5 years. I now live in Springfield, but still travel to Arlington due to the service and true caring assistance I receive when I come here. I love that everything is done out in the open. Your pets aren't taken to a back room to have blood drawn, everything is done in the patient room so that you can help keep your pet calm. I have owned dogs for over 20 years and this is the best vet office I have ever encountered. I wish I could use them for myself! The doctors are great and staff extremely caring and helpful. Dr. Newman is our vet and he is the best! My dog has had some medical issues and his diagnosis has been right every time, he is also not hesitant to refer out to a specialist. I wish I could give 10 stars!

Caring Hands is absolutely the best vet that I have ever been to. I have had multiple dogs in my life, and they have gone to Old Town Animal Hospital, Arlington Animal Hospital, as well as Alexandria Animal Hospital. Caring Hands blows them all out of the water. My dog is a rescue and is absolutely terrified of people, especially men. They are always sure to comfort her and talk her through her walk to the back letting her know it's "going to be okay". We've been taking our two cats to Caring Hands for years, and they always provide great service and send us email updates when we need to schedule check-ups and dentals. They put on a great Open House every year too. Top notch.
