I had a traumatic experience with my 12 week old puppy running into a nest of ticks in my backyard in a 10 minute yard playtime. I spent all night pulling them out of his fur. I called my normal vet who didn't have an appointment, I called an emergency clinic in DC which flat out refused to see him. Absolutely love this place. Our pup Noodles was at a different animal hospital and he had Giardia. He went back three times over a span of 3-4 months and the lab result still showed positive. It costed us thousands of dollars and Noodles still had diarrhea. We ended up switching him to Caring Hands and boom, he was cured within a month after ONE TRY. We are forever grateful. This past year, our senior dog of 13 years had been showing general problems of aging. Recently, her behavior and certain symptoms had taken a dramatic turn for the worse, so we decided to take our dog to Caring Hands in Rockville to get a 2nd opinion on our dog's health. This is the best animal hospital/vet I have ever experienced anywhere in the DC metro area. We have been taking both of our dogs to Dr. Streck for many years, and we couldn't be happier with our experience. I cannot recommend Caring Hands enough, especially Dr. Streck. I've taken my two cats there for years. When one of my cats, Ellie, had a mass in her chest (turned out to be cancer), Dr. Streck made it easy to find a specialist. When the time came to say goodbye to Ellie, Dr. Streck and her team were incredibly thoughtful, kind, and supportive. My husband and I started taking our dog and cat here when we moved to Rockville a year ago. I have seen both Dr. Akande and Dr. Reynolds, and both are great. In particular, I brought my cat into the office this summer when I discovered a lump on her abdomen. Turns out she had metastatic cancer.
