Replaced wall-to-wall carpeting in our master bedroom with hardwood flooring, stained to match the existing hardwood flooring in the other rooms of our house. From start to finish, the process took four days. Day one: removed/disposed of carpet and pad; and installed all the hardwood. Mike came out to our house with samples to perform an estimate the very day I called him. He was very personable, knowledgable and professional. Our project is to carpet the entire second floor of our house and the stairway (about 145 yards of carpet needed). We are also having the the whole house painted and owe taxes for 2011 so we are being particularly careful with money this quarter. We had numerous quotes from established flooring companies and Carolina in Home was our selection. One of the top advertised companies quoted us 13k for same work and that didn't include the staircase being redone! Carolina in home also had a great selection to choose from. We decided to change all the carpet in the house as it was 12 years old and contractor grade. This involved 2 floors of rooms along with a split stairwell. The crew that Mike brought in was great overall. They are very hard working and know what they are doing. I think we had the entire house done in about 8 hours. They will move furniture out and into rooms as they go along. Just have all the small stuff and breakables out of the way. Carolina In-Home Flooring removed carpet and ceramic tile on the 900 sf main level of my home and replaced with a laminate wood-look flooring. Carolina in Home Flooring put in new floors throughout our downstairs area. They came and did an estimate in a timely manor and then put in the floors in the same timely way. They tore out the old flooring (of which there were many different kinds as well as different subfloors) and put in new underlayment, bamboo hardwood flooring and new shoe molding. Hardwood flooring was installed in our study and master bedroom and the old carpeting was removed. Approximately 500 sq. ft of flooring. Mike Nelson and his crew did a terrific job on our new floors. Mike showed up on time to estimate the job and his price was competitive with 2 other bids. They started the job on time on a Monday morning and finished that afternoon. Carolina In Home refinished the floors on my second floor and the stairs leading to the first floor. They applied a coat of stain and two coats of polyurethane. Mike Nelson's crew did an outstanding job. I had previously refinished the floor in one room and they were able to make it look seamless. I inspected the corners and around the door jams and even under the stairs but could not detect any remaining old stain. I also looked for imperfections from the sanding but could not detect any.
