On 12/30/2022 we contacted Champion to tell them the roof was leaking. After six months they decided all issues were caused by us. We had siding, windows and a sunroom installed. The house is on the ****** Coast and vinyl is not an appropriate material to be used. The windows were never sealed, the siding was not installed properly and the sunroom also leaks. I paid a down payment on a window order but changed my mind the same day and followed their very specific instructions for a refund. I received an email from them indicating they acknowledged the my request for a refund but they will not refund my money. This company is disreputable and cannot be trusted. They use predatory sales techniques and their sales persons are dishonest. Also, their windows are overpriced compared to similar companies. Do not purchase from this company.
I had scheduled to meet a salesman to give me a quote on a new sun room enclosure and when the salesman was scheduled to show up I didn't receive a text, phone call, or even a email to let me know the salesman wasn't coming after I had to leave work early to meet him. I am complaining about a specific salesman who is always up at the *** Hardware in Dillonvale on Galbraith Rd. I have been going up there for years, usually with my two dogs, and I am repeatedly asked by this man, when he is there, if I am interested in windows! He knows who I am and I have probably told him a million times I am NOT interested but he keeps asking me just to make me mad. This is the only review of Champion Windows & Home Exteriors you should ever need. On September 25 Champion removed our upstairs window and has yet to replace it. It took them 18 days to reorder the window once they knew it didnt fit. I received a call on December 4 telling me the order was never submitted to be built and will take an additional, minimum 4 weeks. That will put us at 3 months with a plywood window. Champion installed + window on our sunroom, installed one frame backwards on another window. This has gone on now for 5 mos with the local office/installer will not get it fixed. He continues to blame warehouse for not shipping the replacement window. I get not satisfaction from Champion to get this resolved. It is hard to even give them 1 star since I have been fighting with these people ever since we had the windows put in. The salesperson TOLD us that we didn't need a rain shield window in our upstairs bathroom. After the windows were installed we told the installer that the window he installed would not do, but he told us we would have to tell the salesperson and it would probably cost "$500" to have the rain shield window installed. This is a review on the company and not the quality of window. The window is great. However, they were quick to high-pressure sell us and answer our calls before we became a customer as well as bug us about the loan and HOA approval, but now they are very hard to get ahold of. The install team had Champion Windows shirts on so they were not a contractor, but they did not speak English and there was no representative to follow up on their work. Caveat Emptor, "Let the buyer beware." I ordered Windows in May of this year, delivery and installation was completed approximately 10 weeks later, and I discovered a defect with one Slider Window that I pointed out to the installer. He took note, photos and told me an agent from Champion would contact me to discus replacement details. In July I called and was told the delivery would be 6-8 weeks out, 8/1/23 I called, again I was told 6 weeks out, 9/20/23 I was told 8 weeks out.
