Reserved table. Requested specific table in bar. Got there & the hostess had just seated a party of 3 in the booth requested. Told we could wait an hour or so if we wanted it. Seated us elsewhere. Waiter came & took drink order. We waited more than 20 minutes for drinks & were told they ran out of wine glasses. I didn’t order wine & still had to wait. Have always enjoyed Charbonos, but haven't been for awhile. The food wasn't as good as in the past. When our bill came it had a bottle of wine and a cocktail that when we ordered we were told they were out of, so we ordered an alternate, but both the first choice and the second were on the bill - a $60 discrepancy. The waitress giggled and stated "yeah the total amount looked really high to me too."
Had pizza. Must be cooked on conveyor belt. Was fully loaded pizza and was under done. That’s what you get at chain.
The staff was excellent and very attentive. As always the food was great !
I think Charbonos is usually pretty good. But, I took the wife and kids there for Mother’s Day and was disappointed with our visit. Everyone has a bad day, but I was bothered by the waiter forgetting part of my wife’s meal. She ordered a special they were offering and they forgot to bring her green beans. We had a reservation and there was no table for us until about 30 minutes after our reservation time. At that point you would think a manager may stop by and apologize. No staff seemed to care. Our server was just “okay”. Only refilled drinks once and seemed less than thrilled to be present. We dine at all the Cunningham group restaurants because we love the food an atmosphere. Charbonos has always seemed to lack in “service”. This Mother’s Day was no different. Kinda disappointed.
Mother’s Day - what we didn’t know was they do a special brunch that went from 10 am to 3 pm - our reservation was at 2:45 - ok no big deal let us get the menu - server cared less - said we had 15 minutes to server our selves and menu no allowed ... so got our drinks and rushed thru the meal (happy Mother’s Day) Server was flippant and cared less - managers seen worried about clean up - then as we left saw other moms get a flower - apparently my wife (and mother of 2 ) didn’t deserve it and not offered. This is my first return to Charbono's and unfortunately it started with a disappointment. I went there for their outstanding walleye dish only to find out it had been replaced on the menu. My wife and I brought another couple and at least two of us were ready for snapper. Otherwise the meal was fine. At age 69, I find what you call "energetic" to be annoying.
