Be prepaired to wait. I had LASIK performed a year ago and am now at my return visit. I was satisfied with the procedure but very dissapointed in the wait times. Over four visits I have waited at least an hour per visit past my appointment time to see the doctor. This appointment was made 3 months ago and I have been waiting for over an hour. This is a constant at this practice. Very disrespectful of patients time.
Stay away! I came here for Botox a few times and had to stop coming, despite incredibly convenient location to where I live. The assistants/nurses here are extremely aggressive about pushing expensive products-- they will do this whether you ask for information or not. I was phoned after leaving the office about a facelift despite being in my mid-thirties and having no desire to do such an invasive procedure. When at the office, I felt as if I were at a used car lot - once I even broke down into tears because one 'nurse' kep... read more
Another poorly run practice that seems to think its patients have nothing better to do than while away the hours in a waiting room. If you're getting some high-margin treatment, you can expect the red carpet. If you're one of the unwashed coming in for something less glamourous - like monitoring the health of your eyes - prepare for less solicitous treatment. PS - If anyone's found an opthalmologist in NYC whose office runs efficiently, please send me a message. I'm looking.
I visited Dr Eviatars' office on July 15, 2010. I was looking to have lower eyelid surgery, known as blepharoplasty. First, I had a free consultation with his staff Amy Eidelman who spoke of a under going a lower lid retraction & I later met with Dr Eviatar for a paid consultation of $200. Dr. Eviatar said he would not perform a lower lid retraction and what I needed was Juviderm injections which would be the same cost as the "lower lid retraction". I decide to think it over. I did some research on "lower lid retraction" and... read more
If you have all day to wait to see the doctor - by all means make an appointment. After 70 minutes - I finally left. My time is just a valuable. Perhaps they shouldn't DOUBLE BOOK appointments all day.
Have been there three times now for botox and had to wait over an hour each time despite having made appts weeks in advance. They must over-schedule and they must believe their customers time is not valuable. For this reason and high prices I won't be back a fourth time.
I visited Chelsea Eye to have a biospy on my eyelid for suspected skin cancer. The experience was awful -- an interminably long wait, a confused staff, and a dismissive doctor (Dr. Eviatar). It turned out that I did indeed have cancer, but the staff person who called to deliver the news was curt, could provide very little information about the surgery to remove it, and impossible to get a hold of when I had questions. (And forget about getting an actual doctor to talk to me.) I decided to have another surgeon perform the exc... read more
Thank you, Tiffany, for your response on behalf of Chelsea Eye which you posted on Yelp. I am adding a second star because your response is better than nothing. May I suggest that you personally reach out to your patients with complaints by calling them to discuss. Responding on Yelp without personal contact seems to me to be insincere and as if you are gearing your response to the Yelp and internet world at large and not to the actual issues or patients. I have yet to receive a response to my two emails to Chelsea Eye but l... read more
I was extremely disappointed in the service after my Lasek surgery. Before they received my money they were extremely accommodating and prompt. After the surgery for the follow-ups I was treated like someone they wanted to move along because I was no longer a priority. The difference in the pre-op and post-op care is like night and day. I would absolutely not recommend this place. If you expect quality you will not find it here.
