Five years later and my vision started to deteriorate three years later. So although I can still see far better than I could before lasiks, I am now back to wearing glasses. I guess I would have still done it but I would not have done different powers in my eyes so that I did not need reading glasses, it has made it far more difficult to correct my vision for either reading or distance. Its true, it does NOT last forever!
My experience with this office wasn't pleasant even though the doctor was very nice at first. She saw me for about 5 minutes and prescribed the drug that no pharmacies has. I had to come back and ask for replacement. Front desk was telling me that she is with other client and I have to wait. Mean while, he never went to check and see if the doctor was busy or not. It turned out that she wasn't busy with anyone because I went to her office my self after 40 minutes of wait. The total time I spent there was two hours between wa... read more
I called Dr. Coad's office to schedule a consultation for LASIK. I had gone to another eye surgeon and felt a second opinion was important. I went to my appointment and asked cost of the appointment, and the receptionist could not advise. I figured $200 at most. I waited 30 minutes. Met one technician, waited 30 again then did other tests, waited and didn't speak with Dr. Coad until 6:05 PM. I arrived at 4. I'm a patient person but was certainly displeased at the ridiculously long waits. Then when the $426 bill arrived I was... read more
Lasik, Dr. Coad, Elizabeth (who no longer works here): A+. Never made a better decision in my life. Can see perfectly. Consultation clear and not pushy. Elizabeth was a star and I'm sorry she's no longer working here. EVERYTHING ELSE -- Billing, cleanliness of the actual practice (not the surgery), scheduling, follow-up: D-. What a saga. Want to pay hundreds for an eye infection? Come to this practice! Would rather save your cash for some other method of suffering? I am a long-term client and am seriously thinking of leaving. 1) They charge a $75 fee for the refraction test if you want a prescription for your glasses. Insurance companies usually will not reimburse for the refraction test. Why? Because it is not medically necessary. They can do this using a phoropter. As I have been going there for nearly 30 years, they know what my baseline is and what my last prescription was. The $75 they charge is just to off-set the low insurance reimbursements, which quite frankly, they agreed to.... read more
This place was no good from start to finish. I set up an appointment via ZocDoc and received an email from them wanting to verify my insurance. They list themselves as accepting my insurance on Zocdoc but ok I send over my insurance card maybe 20 minutes after they sent their email. Fast forward to four days and four emails later no one bothers to respond as to whether or not my insurance is accepted. Mind you I've received emails regarding their fees, etc. but nothing regarding my insurnace. Finally I receive an email, it w... read more
THIS IS THE WORST place to go for an actual eye problem or exam. They are more interested in up selling plastic surgery and lasik, making you go through a super obnoxious paperwork process to do so and they run LATE. Like SUPER late. I like doctor's offices that have a bed side manner and actually are happy to have your business and connect with new clients and their needs. Not treat you like you are in the DMV. I went in based on the high google rating that was a horrible mistake. Also please chelsea eye do not reach out to... read more
Horrible experience. First, after receiving no less than 5 reminders for my appointment (email, text, call) they keep me waiting over 40 minutes. Second and most disturbing was the doctor who either didn't care or is incompetent. Didn't properly diagnose me. Fortunately I went to another ophthalmologist for a second opinion and was properly diagnosed. And now in treatment. Never going back. Place does more harm than good. Anthony is my middle name. Will be happy to speak to Philip.
