I've noticed that the majority of the Five Star reviews on this clinic are for typical LASIK and cataract surgeries, which tens of thousands of doctors can perform with equal ability. Believe me, that's no big deal. But my personal experience with the folks at "The Chelsea Money Factory" has been essentially, a waking nightmare. First, the office. It has all the warmth of an inner city gym. Cavernous and covered with excessive adverts of their own doctors, it didn't look like any medical office I've ever been in. The recepti... read more
Business response:
Dear Robert K., Thank you for your feedback regarding operations at our practice. This type of feedback is important for us because we try very hard, not only to provide excellent medical and surgical care, but also to ensure that the experience of our patients is as stress-free as possible. To address your concerns, there appears to have been a misunderstanding regarding the different doctors and their treatments at our practice. Over the past 20 years, I have focused my practice on aesthetic procedures. I have been ... read more
Well, in a word: horrible. I visited for what I thought would be a routine visit and developed severe complications afterwards. When I contacted them, they refused to address the issue. In fact I'm still suffering and had wasted a good deal of time seeking follow up checkups from various opthalmologists. Prospective patients would do well to evaluate carefully. This place does not deserve any stars in my view, but I need to give at least one for the review to go through.
I went to see Dr. Eviatar for Botox. I've been Botox for two years. I thought that I went to an experienced doctor. He never listened to what I suggested. He did what he wanted to do. A few days after the treatment I noticed that my eye brows and eyelids had dropped. My eyes look hooded sad, and sunken. And both eyes feel heavy. This was the exact opposite effect of what I wanted. I do not recommend this doctor.
I would give -5 stars if there's that option. I've been to a lot of doctors (see my other reviews), this one is the worst of the worst. The front desk is never available, and you'll have to be held on line for at least 20 minutes to get through a live person. I initially scheduled an ophthalmologists visit and a lasik consultation, then several days later they called me saying there's a schedule conflict and that they "need" me to come in at another time. I beared with the impoliteness and made another appointment with them.... read more
At first glance the smiles can deceive you but just wait. One tells you one thing, and then on the next visit you find there was no hand off between practitioners and the cost just doubled, instead of the first price give. Also, they pack too many patients in at one time.
Business response:
Dear Marcella, Thank you for your feedback. Please feel free to contact us and let us know specifically what you experienced as we would love to have the opportunity to rectify this matter.
be ready to wait. I waited almost 2 hours for the Dr being shuffled around back and forth to the waiting area. The front desk staff were rude and didn't want to take my insurance. At the end of the second hour I didn't even receive an exam, 5 minutes with Dr Coad then sent on my way. Just received an invoice that they billed my insurance $700 for this annual "checkup". My pet gets much better treatment at west chelsea vet clinic.
Business response:
Dear Marvin, We are sorry to learn that you did not have a good experience with our office. At times there are emergencies or unforeseen conditions that can cause the doctor to run behind, especially late in the day. We try to accommodate all patients as best we can. We use advanced and sophisticated equipment to check the eye. These delicate instruments are often in variousrooms. However, we certainly do not intend to make anyone feel "shuffled" and will be addressing your issues with our staff. We appreciate your feed... read more
I would recommend complete avoidance. Despite clear instructions to never dilate my eyes, because of past adverse reactions, the nurse went ahead and did it anyway without telling me what she was doing. When informed, she tried to turn it around and blame me for not stopping her. A complete lack of professionalism and failure of patient care. I will never return and can never recommend to others.
Business response:
We apologize for your experience at our practice. Our technicians and physicians would never intentionally give drops or medication that would cause an adverse reaction. In fact, we are so concerned about always providing top quality care that we have employed a very precise electronic medical records system. We very much value your feedback and again apologize if there was any misunderstanding during your care.
Not sure this is the place to go if you just want regular eye care -- not Lasik or some high-margin cosmetic procedures. I was a patient from a number of years back, when Dr Coad still personally gave eye exams to the hoi polloi. Then the signage in the waiting room started to make it clear that their priorities had changed -- this was a Botox and Lasik shop...the higher-margin stuff. I value continuity of treatment, not being foisted off on the young associate du jour who knows nothing about my history, so I left. I came ba... read more
Business response:
Dear John G. We apologize for the experience you've had at our practice. While our practice is known to be outstanding for LASIK and cosmetic procedures, and we have doctors who specialize in those procedures, our roots go back to comprehensive eye care. We've been performing comprehensive eye care since 1993 and have a large following of patients. While sometimes patients are offered appointments with our associates, you can be assured that these associates are excellently trained, board certified and have the deepest care... read more
They spend a lot of time devising ways to be less patient friendly. I have been a patient here for years and considering going elsewhere. The office staff is brusque, they have an endless array of rules and regulations, are always extremely late (I waited an hour after my appointment today), and they stick me with a new junior "doctor" each time. Nice office, though. I guess design and self-promotion are very important to them.
Business response:
Dear Steve D. Thank you for taking the time to review our practice. The patient experience is extremely important to us. We spend a great deal of time training the staff to be pleasant and to treat each patient like family. We have been in practice for 20 years and our senior doctors are expert surgeons and therefore spend much of their time caring for complicated surgery patients, whether they are medical or elective in nature. All of our physicians are board certified and superbly trained. We sincerely apologize that you d... read more
