The food and the waitor was excellent. However, the wait to be seated was poor. A reservation was made for a party of 7 for 3pm, we was not seated until 35 min after 3pm. When asked to speak to a mgr he turned out to be clueless and blantly lied to my face about the resevation policy and not once offered an apoloy for the wait. My definition of a reservation is a table being held in advance for a specific time for a certain amt of ppl. A reservation is not waiting for a table to be cleared and 2 tables pushed together. I've eaten here before so I know the food is good, HOWEVER, I didn't get a chance to eat here on the day that I reserved because my table was given away (I was 5 min late) and I had to wait for them to "clean another table and get it ready", which turned into a 15 min wait. I might have waited if music wasn't loud and overbearing and as a 40 something year old, I'm really not into the hip hop, 20 - 30 year old day party vibe at 1:30 p.m. on a Sunday afternoon. Sorry. I would not recommend at all. The food was not topnotch, especially for the pricing. Will not go again.
Made Reservations and got there and i still wasn't able to be seated for my reservation. Was told it's a 30-45 minute wait. Thought reservations have preference over a walk ins. Even if its at capacity.
Made a reservation for Christmas Day evening for dinner---which was available on OpenTable, and their website proclaimed that they were going to be open serving their regular menu. When we arrived, they were closed and the place was dark. Not sure I would trust them in future. Bummer because it had some good reviews.
Drinks and food were below average. Nothing to remember.
The prices at this restaurant are ridiculously high and are out of touch with Harlem. It is a poor gentrified version of a place that is out of place, especially as there are many more choices at much better prices and ambience. The space is cold in atmosphere and lacks warmth and feeling. I would not recommend nor visit again. Also, the pictures advertising this place greatly lack inclusion.
Overall good re
Went for Sunday brunch with friends. It's a spacious restaurant with great possibilities but food and drinks fell short. Mimosas were very weak and not worth the price. We had steak and eggs (steak was rubbery - wouldn't order again), veggie omelet was fine and the red velvet pancakes were ok but nothing special. Sadly, we left disappointed and in a city like New York with so many brunch possibilities, Chocolat gave us no reason to return.
