The service was nice, the food very good. What spoiled the entire experience was the waiter charging us for 3 drinks; with the entrée, there was 1 drink with the meal and every drink after was to be complimentary. The drink was listed at $14.00 on the site menu, but the charge price was $16.00. My party included myself and my two granddaughters, which the menu stated a party of four or more pay 15% of the bill for tipping; which we were charged $24.00; another error. Reservation was for 7:30 and we were seated promptly. Our waiter never introduced himself and the hostess actually took our drink order. Our drink order was taken at 7:55 by the hostess and we received our drinks by our server at 8:15. The waiter took our order at that time. The food here is always great, unfortunately the service this time was not so great... I had the short rib mac and cheese and braised short ribs.
Got a table quick. Service was friendly and gracious to a point. The food, on the other hand, was poor. They offer no basket of bread and butter, there was only one option for an unlimited beverage, the omlette was one of the worst I've ever had. Asked for a soft omlette and it was over cooked, cheese in only one section, and you had to order bread separately. I cannot speak for the food as I didn’t get to eat it but the service was terrible. I had a reservation and they did have the table ready on time but then the waitor was hostile and didn’t even ask for our order despite us trying to get his attention. Finally we asked for the bill (we did get drinks served to us at least) because we were hungry and no one had even asked us what we wanted to eat and the waitor finally shows up to talk to us and rudely asks “what’s the rush”?. Disappointing. Three beers listed on the menu were not available. White wine suggested by the waiter was unavailable. When we then ordered the one chardonnay on the menu, the waiter came back to say it was not chilled. After 20 minutes, he brought it and opened it, but it really still wasn't the right temperature. Food was good, but we won't be going back.
We were hosting our National Alumni President as the new officers; the waitress was not attentive without prompting. The happy hour was not exciting the restaurant was relatively empty/dry; I was surprised and expected better!
Food is good but over priced. Appetizers the same price as entrees?? Service was not good and automatic tip for only 3 people is BS.
The grits seemed to be warmed up from yesterday. English muffins were cold and no butter or jam til we requested. The Hollandaise sauce had no flavor. Coffee was brought with no cream. Disappointing.
