Ambiance was good. The place was nice. The service was fantastic. The food was bland. There were not many options for dinner. The fish had no flavor. The short ribs were just plain. Nothing had flavor. The grits were very good. This place was kind of expensive for food that doesn't taste flavorful.
Food and waiter service was extremely slow, short ribs were tough, mashed potatoes were stiff; spinach was tough and had no taste. My fish was overcooked to the point where I needed a knife for the bland tasting overcooked fish sauteed in butter. There were 6 green peas on top of my thawed tasting fish with overcooked, starchy & bland risotto. The grits with cheese & bacon had less than a 3rd of a piece of bacon in it & tasted as if it had been overcooked & reheated all day. Our waiter forgot to give us bread as we watched 4 o... read more
Ican only speak on my experience place looks very nice good music playing im not a drinker so i don't much about that but the service for me was poor
The entryway smelled of smoke, the service was slow, management took too long to acknowledge our complaints, food was cold and didn't taste that good, entryway smelled of marijuana as we left
Thought I would give Chocolat a try since the re-openeing. I recognized a server that gave spendid service during my prior visits but the food was very slow in delivery. about 15 min for appetizerz then 26 minutes for the entrees. Portions slightly smaller than what would be considers average. Bar is outstanding
Music was bumping way too loud for a Sunday brunch in a restaurant that was less than half full. Food was not bad. Atmosphere is pretty sterile.
Very disappointed in this restaurant. The lunch menu was not enticing with little choices, every glass of wine we asked for they did not have, could not get bread (even by paying extra) because only served at dinner. Had a late lunch and there were 4 people in the place. the neighborhood has very few choices so we thought this would be special. It definitely is not
I have been there a few times and every time the experience has been mediocre and when you are in NYC, mediocre = forgettable. This occasion was for brunch and we specifically went because of the mimosas which tasted like orange juice which makes you feel like the restaurant "duped" you. The food was not bad nor was the staff rude, however again there was nothing there that made you want to return. After having brunch and dinner at this lackluster establishment, I think it is time to just call this one a dud.
Sadly all the reviews are true. Mediocre food. Meatpacking district prices. Strange service. The cocktails look great but at $14/pop I'll have to wait for a reason to celebrate!
