seated close to the bar but then I asked to be moved as there was an odor of garbage in that area. A waiter moved us but then the hostess came by & asked us to move, as that table was reserved, there were so many other open tables. Asked to be moved to a particular table told no they were reserved. Was at spot for almost 2 hours no other patrons showed up! Hence plenty of empty reserved tables. Went to this restaurant month ago was fun went through a brief shut down so thought I would give it another try. Overall food was consumable but not moving. Burgers had by friends were good and the sweet potato fries are good as well. Will give it another shot to see if anything improves
My family was visiting from out of town and I decided to take them to Chocolat for brunch. The wait time was very unreasonable, as we waited a hour. After awhile, drinking mimosas was getting old. We were not the only table waiting. I even saw a man pull food out of his bag to eat becuase the wait time was so long. The waitress did her best to keep us from getting irritated. 50 minutes before our appetizers came out. Dead flies on the window sill..the waitress eventually came and cleaned it up. only one person in our party ordered an entree.she really enjoyed it. The shrimp empanadas were delicious but the calamari and chicken were bland. The drinks were pricy but good. Service was ridiculously slow. The manager was having a staff meeting and yelling at the staff in east shot. I've been here for brunch once &it was good but there's better places. Not horrible but I would not go back.
When I booked my reservation through Open Table, I requested a quiet romantic table. Well that did not happen. The service is VERY slow and we were there on a Sunday evening at 6pm, I don't think that there were even 25 people dining at that time. The server kept coming back and apologizing that the food was taking so long. The tables are black painted wood and our table was very sticky, even after being wiped again. We were not even offered another table. ,The water glasses were dirty. Take your chances!
I am disappointed in this restaurant because I have been there several times and this time we had a party of 5 so they sat us outside. They turned the tables sideways and because we were on an uneven sidewalk our drinks kept sliding off the table. We requested to be moved but they could not accommodate us. All we got was an apology and had to deal with the uncomfortable situation. The least they could've done is taken 10% off the bill or done something to show good customer service. We were looking for a nice, trendy soul food spot to go to before a show. Since it was our anniversary my husband put in special notes with our reservation to the Maitre'd in the OPEN TABLE app that if possible a cake or acknowledgement could be given:NOTHING. Didn't have any specials for Valentine's day. Didn't honor the special request for a dessert shaped into a heart which I think didn''t require much ingenuity. Food was brought out rather quickly which indicated that it was prepared earlier in the day and they just reheated it to then serve.
