I had some of the worst pancakes ever; dry with no flavor. Should have sent them back and got toast. @ the Rancho Cucamonga location
I have been going to Black bear for almost 16 years. I started going to the one in Redding and have gone to locations in Washington and throughout California. When one opened up in Santa Ana, I was so happy. I've been there so many times and never had an issue till last night. I always order an Arnold Palmer with my meal and usually have a few refills. First experience watched the waitress put her finger in a customers gravy to check temperature. And then proceeded to bring it to the table. Brought it to the managers attention and he did nothing. Second experience had hair in our food. And it was under cooked and had to go back to the kitchen.Third experience out of food already at lunchtime. Don’t waste your time not worth your effort. Today on September 15th, I was at your Tucson, Arizona diner. I ordered the classic burger medium well. Well, I put trust that your cooks knew how to tell the difference between medium well and medium rare which was the burger I was served. Poor service and she was slow. Food wasn't as good as we have had. Won't be back. This was in the Midwest City diner.

Service was very poor and food was just ok. There seemed to be a lot of people just standing around not working. Lots of dirty tables and our food was sitting at window for too long.

Took our son and his girlfriend there. Only 2 other tables occupied when we got there. Service was SLOW. I had the crispy chicken Cobb salad and it took over 15 to get my dressing - my son actually got up and reminded them that we had asked for sides of ranch for the fries too. Our water was never refilled. Son ordered the steak special and the “make it a full dinner meal” to get the salad and cornbread. He got no veggies, waitress said his salad was in place of that. I saw a plate that looked like my order sit under the heat lamp at least 15 minutes while I suppose they cooked my husband's hamburger. I watched as the plate was shuffled back and forth by at least six servers as other plates were swept away to their dining tables promptly. I watched as servers spoke to the cooks in the back over said plate; hoping that plate was not mine. Once it arrived and I knew that indeed it was my plate we refused to eat or pay for it.
