My fiance loved her ring from Mervis. Initially, we had a very nice ring with a nice diamond. Eventually, she wanted a slightly smaller, higher qualiy diamond on the same ring. Mervis accomodated us and helped us change the diamond on the setting without any problems. Brenda Friedman helped us. She was very friendly and did not pressure us to buy a ring. I went to Mervis for an engagement ring and my advisor was Sara Tosyali. She was fantastic, helped me learn about the kind of diamonds, offered several different styles and designs, and helped me pick out a great setting and stone. We went back a few months later for a wedding band and my fiancee and I were able to find a perfect ring. We shopped around and found that comparable rings in and around the area from different stores were much more expensive so we went with the Mervis ring. This is a review for jewelry repair. When a ruby fell out of my engagement ring (bought in New York), I visited lots of jewelry stores to try to get it repaired. No jewelry stores in DC would fix the ring (I guess they didn't want to be liable for the ring if the repairs went wrong) .......except Mervis, plus they were recommended by the insurance company! I had been planning for months to propose to my girlfriend (now fiancee') on New Years. I had a family ring, but being a guy had no idea if it was good, bad, what kind of shape it was in, etc... I went to Mervis and they were extremely helpful and informative. They let me know that the ring was in good shape, but since it was an heirloom could use a cleaning, polishing, and refurbishing. If you want to overpay for your diamonds and be talked down to in the process, Mervis' is the place for you. Both the salesman and the jeweler actually INSULTED my fiancee's engagement ring, saying that perhaps the top was crooked, and that the ring was ILLEGAL because it didn't have 14k stamped on it. "If that ring came into my shop I wouldn't work on it," they said. When we found a few we liked, they loudly announced the cost of each ring to the entire store. My partner and I were very pleased with our experience and glad we took the advice of friends to visit Mervis. We presented to our appointment looking for an engagement ring setting for a stone provided by a family member. My girlfriend & I recently visited the Mervis store located in Tyson's Corner to possibly pick out an engagement ring. We actually went on two separate occasions. I'd like to first mention that our sales representative, Sara Tosyali, was absolutely superb. She was attentive, professional, knowledgeable and really made us feel very at ease.
