My father was there - we had some great helpers but others not so much. Dad ended up with stage 2 bed sore since they hardly turned him. There response time when someone pooped to change them was over 45 minutes. The nurses never referred to him with his name- always wanted to know room number and bed. Seriously- treated like a number. Sorry we ended up there. When it came to have him moved the fell behind in arranging the transportation- called when no one showed up and then arranged our own. Be careful- we went there every... read more

Do NOT go to Crystal Cove. My husband was transferred here after the hospital. 17 days. 8 messages to Doctor, finally get return call day before he left, trying to talk me into keeping him here. Watched him call for 30-40 min for help when he had to go to bathroom, when they wouldn't let me help him. I finally ignored that. I watched his roommate yell for Two hours... wanted Tylenol in pain. I went to nurses station 4 times for him. Never showed. I had to cover him up, help him get sweatshirt on. Two hours NO ONE came. Pit... read more

i was transferred to this care center for rehab after my femur surgery. The center does not have enough nursing personnel for 3 shifts, the food is awful, not edible, even caused some residents diarrhea, unfortunately I was one of the victims, some CNAs (certified nurse assistant) are helpful and have done the best to provide their service, some are terrible, they shouldn't be in this field. The center has gone 3 times COVID 19 attacked, very obviously this care center didn't comply the SOP to prevent Covid 19 breaking out... read more

When my mother was brought from Hoag after neurosurgery to remove a cancer tumor, the receptionist informed him a cloth mask is not acceptable and he needed to wear a blue disposable mask.and visiting hours are from 9. We arrived at 9 the next day and found out a blue mask is not acceptable. We need a 95 mask and a face shield. We left and ran around to find face shields. Upon arriving, they now informed us only one visitor at a time only. My mother is near deaf and needs hearing aids. She had both in her ears when she arri... read more

Run, don't walk away from this place! We had to put my 96 year old mother here in January 2021after having emergency surgery. We had no choice since most convalescence homes were not taking anyone new due to COVID. She was there 6 weeks. Since she was brought directly from the hospital we were not allowed to see her and the only clothes she had was the gown from the hospital. My wife bought new clothes for her, nightgowns, bathrobes and undergarments. The whole 6 six we never saw her and was only had a telephone conversation... read more

I regret choosing this facility for my 96 year old , WWII veteran Father. He was More than just a treasure to me and my family . He was a valuable resource to many people that loved him and was still sharing his experiences as a World War III pilot that airlifted hundreds of refugees out of harms way in the South Pacific. My Dad had a stroke and came here for a couple more weeks of physical therapy And speech therapy. The highly trained physical therapy department and the speech department were excellent , but they only ma... read more

My mom was in Hoag Hospital and they recommended three different facilities. The only reason we chose Crystal Cove Care Center was because it was close to the hospital and my brother's house. They asked me to pack a suitcase for my mom with comfortable clothes since she was going to be doing rehab, pj's and personal items that she needed. Come to find out after I picked her up from being there for three weeks, she was never able to wear her own pj's (they had her in a hospital gown the entire time) and they made her wear ... read more
