The staff, nurses, patient care asstiants and everyone really cares about their patients. They show love and compassion in all they do. A big thing that matters in the Skilled Nursing Facility area is cleanliness. This is one of the cleanest places I have been to.

My mom has been at Crystal Cove since February of this year. She is 79 years old this month and She was at home, with 24/7 caregivers and daily wound care, for a year, and still ended up with 3 infections and two stage 4 wounds, that got her admitted to Hoag Hospital. From Hoag, my mom was transferred to Crystal Cove to get care for the wounds. Because she has Lewy Body Dementia, at home, she would sometimes refuse the care of the caregivers. I have been to a few rehab facilities to visit people in the past and Crystal Cove has been my most pleasant experience so far. First, it's located in Newport Beach and if you walk about 2 blocks down the hill, you get a beautiful view of the ocean. Second, Patrick Le (one of the managers there) knows how to take care of business! He has been there for my grandma and our family during the whole process of her discharge from Hoag for rehab care to working with us to get her admitted for long-term care. My grandma has been here since mid-February and has received great care! Patrick Le has been very helpful for our family in arranging everything and making sure she has everything she needs. He helped work with us through the process of short-term to long-term to hospice and has ensured through it all that she receives the proper care and comfort. Let's be honest all rehabilitation centers and nursing home have issues. My grandmother was admitted here after an emergency stay at Hoag. Crystal Cove was highly recommend by the nurses at Hoag, which is the first good sign. Patrick Le and the entire staff have been more then patient, helpful and efficient with my grandmother's case. Any rehab place is as good as the weakest link. In this case, the nursing is so overworked that they can't answer the phones. So, my last review reflected my incredible aggravation because I was hung up on three times. So, I had to drive over to find out that I couldn't take my mother out of there without a doctor who had never seen or heard of her's approval. Day 2- Patrick greets me at the door. My mother has been admitted to Crystal Cove on two different occasions following discharge from the hospital. I can't speak highly enough about the many qualities of Crystal Cove. We have now spent over 4 weeks ( two weeks on each occasion) and I can honestly say every department is buttoned up at the highest level. You walk down the halls and the staff is smiling & giving their best efforts to serve the patients and their loved ones.. The facility is spotless. my wife was in this facility for a month after previously being in another facility .. there was a big difference and crystal cove gets my vote.. it is cleaner, rooms are bigger and your have you own phone number but more importantly the staff listens as you cannot have everything go right and they did their best to correct ..
