My husband has been here for a little over 2 weeks. He has received excellent overall care. The staff are competent, patient and kind. He and his room mate get along extremely well. There have been a couple of slow response times. And he doesn't like the food.

My wife Beverly had a stroke in March. She had never been to a nursing home before and I had heard horrible stories from friends. Her Doctors at Orange Coast Memorial insisted on having her recover at a "post acute" setting. I thought, "oh great, a fancy term for a nursing home". Reluctantly, I toured Crystal Cove in Newport Beach. It was a little further from my home but they had availability. To my surprise, the place was clean and it didn't smell. First off, I almost never write Yelp reviews. I feel compelled to do so now because I know how difficult this decision can be. At this present time, my mother and my step-father are both in the care of Crystal Cove. My mom has been there for over 100 days. It is hard to imagine that a more caring, intelligent and responsive staff is available anywhere. I will keep it short and sweet. But that has been my family's experience, and I wanted to share it.

From the moment you arrive at Crystal cove the Admissions team is welcoming. Not many people leave positive feedback unless it's outstanding and I can say Crystal cove is outstanding in many ways. From the nursing team and Director of Nursing Jonah make you feel at home and at ease in a troubling time. The Nurse Assistants though busy are attentive and provide personalized care. After my grandmother fell at home, she was rushed over to Hoag. She had to have hip surgery and required Rehab. Hoag case manager and nursing staff gave us a few recommendations, so we toured them all. Crystal cove definitely stood out. It's very clean, and it smells nice. Some of the other "5 star" facilities weren't as clean and smelled like urine. We decided on Crystal Cove. I was a patient at Crystal Cove for 4 months. I came to the facility with anemia and unable to walk from what had been diagnosed as cancer. Well after five months at Crystal Cove Care Center. I was not only free of anemia. But have regained the ability to walk. Without any assistance. It is a miracle come true for me. I could not walk for 1-1/2 years in total but thanks to Crystal Cove it's nurses, PT department and dietitians I am healthy and walking and running and driving again. It truly is a miracle. My father has bern to this facility several times the last 4 years. The nursing staff and in fact all staff has been so caring and respectful under the most difficult of times. I feel my dad is in good hands at this particular facility even though they could definatley use some extra hands at times they do the best possible.

I've been home for two weeks now don't know what I would've done without all the help the Crystal Cove gave me. After my surgeries I couldn't even stand up but they helped me to learn to walk again I'm still practicing the physical therapy and occupational therapy departments are fantastic the Nursing staff helped me so much all day and all night like I say now I'm back home doing much better Hope everybody there knows how much they do for people.
