Debtblue informed me that they can settle my debt of $28,000 for $18,000, and in just 2 years, so I figured, ok, $10,000 savings. Well, I signed up in about August of 2021, to date they have drafted out of my bank $8800. They have only settled one of my 4 accounts, and have told me that I only have $1,400 so far in my account to pay the debt (and so far has only paid $300 on that settled account). When I asked them we here is the other $7,100, they tell me it went to their fees. So they've taken 8,800 to settle a $6000 balan... read more

Per the terms of the client enrollment agreement, all fees paid to DebtBlue are performance-based which means that no fee can be collected until an account has been successfully negotiated with a creditor/collection agency, approved by the client, and secured by the Negotiations Team. In the instance of both of her account settlements, once the initial payment of the term settlements were funded to the creditor the full fee had been earned by DebtBlue. The policy followed by DebtBlue mirrors the regulations set forth in the ... read more
DebtBlue sends what appear to be harmful mailers. While the mailer may meet the requirements of the letter of the law, it seems to be intending to mislead recipients in a predatory manner. Their responses on BBB look like this: "The DebtBlue mailer is meant to show the service we offer the many consumers presently struggling with seemingly insurmountable credit card debt." Here is what the mailer says: "Please contact our offices at [redacted phone number] within 10 days of receiving this notice regarding the adjustment of y... read more

Called multiple times and left voicemail messages to cancel this account and no one gets back to you to confirm. Decided that this program is not right for me at the moment. Can't even get in touch with the representative who helped me. His name is Cedric. How can I trust this company when they can even get back to you properly.
Business response:

I have been with debt blue since 2018. I originally signed with national debt service and they pushed my account to debt blue. They were suppose to be helping me settle a discover card debt. A huge mistake by trusting this company!!! Multiple times I have called to see where my money has been going that they have been automatically withdrawing from my checking every month. I checked my mail this past weekend and there were sheriff sales papers in our mailbox!!! How humiliating this is!!! I immediately called debt blue and ag... read more
Business response:
This clients Discover account was settled in August of 2020, in payments. Client then decided to withdraw $500 dollars from the account in the middle of the settlement, therfore leaving her account short for the remaining settlement payments. The settlement was voided, and the client never added the funds back or increased the deposits back to be able to resettle the account. Client was explained the situation when she withdrew funds. She has canceled and is no longer in our program.
The company sends out letters that on the surface appear to be a credit card company attempting to negotiate a settlement on a delinquent credit card. When you call the 800 number, you find out it is a solicitation to negotiate out of your credit card debt. What is creepy is they seem to have an accurate credit card balance on your card so it looks legit; it is unclear how they get this information as bait to get you to call them.
These people are a scam. They falsely present themselves as creditors with mailings designed to look as though they are owed money - I also received one of their "Final Attempt" letters from their "Negotiations Department", purporting to act on behalf of creditors that I owe no money to.
Business response:
Our Mailer always represents the creditors we settle with, and the numbers on the flier are examples of the settlements and savings. We state that on the letter clearly. We appreciate your feedback.
This is an extremely shadey fly by night scam like operation with a rude shadey information stealing person. They want info amd they want to get money without actually achieving anything. And how they falsely obtained our info and account statistics I am extremely outraged by this breach of security. And they sent a letter that didn't include their name and made it out to look like it is legit and a law firm. No one asked for any "debt settlement" anything. This is really bad. The accounts we do have are open and just fine a... read more

I can't locate this name with this zip code, I have sent an email to this email asking to email with the notice number so I can remove from our mailing list.
Avoid at all costs. This "company" sent a fake appearing letter to my home from their "negotiations" department, quoting debt numbers they have no access to, and told me it was their "second attempt" at reaching me. The letter threatened that fees/costs would increase unless I called. The letter is bland and does not label itself as coming from DebtBlue. However, when I called the number to ask to be removed, the number that called me back was from DebtBlue. Upon blocking that number, they call back with different numbers. A... read more
