Overall OK, but... It is a good scanner, no doubt about it. Software is rather clumsy - it takes to many clicks to get to the final destination. The usa/power cord is very inconveniently located - no matter how you tweak it is always in the way of the paper you scan. Returned
The scanner never connect to computer Either Mac 10.14 or Windows10, the scanner never connected to the computer instantly. I had to keep reinstall the program and driver several times whenever I need to scan for something. I used it about 5 times after we purchased it 8 month ago. I am pending average 5 hours to get it work whenever I use it. This time, even reinstalling the driver and program didn't work.
so far, I HATE IT! I followed the instructions which seemed decently easy. Downloaded the software, all good! Said the driver was successfully installed, which meant that it was time to plug in the scanner and start working. NOPE! the only message that I could get is "Initialize Fail"
Not the best image quality; outdated software The scanning quality is about a 7 out of 10. I guess I should have expected that for the price. The software is a nightmare to download and the interface looks older than me. And I’m old. They want $10 to download the software to scan receipts after you register the device. Fails to meet the single purpose of my purchase Business card scanning. Unbearably poor performance. "first.lastname@biz.com" is a basic email format. Yet, when I scan a card it "scans" it as fhflkjh6974947kjfhkajfh@name;moc. Don't go cheap. Buy something else.
Not compatible with newer MacBook Pro Hours trying to install on newer MacBook Pro running latest OS. Several Mac experts unable to install -- tried 4 different cable adaptors --- all not recognized by the computer. On the positive side, worked well for 3 years on an older Mac system and an older OS....DS - 620 Product says 'free phone support for the life ion the product' --- obviously not true, and cannot find a human to talk with on their web site. Terrible if using for Receipts I bought this to scan photos. It was a good product and was quick to scan my photos. But there was a receipt feature that I ended up using when my NEAT scanner got outdated. If you are buying this to do Receipts - DON'T. First off it doesn't remember the receipts and you have to input everything every time. Big thing it only can do a receipt if it is 14" long. Not very user friendly I'm somewhat computer savvy, but I had to refer to the internet to make it work for me. The instructions are not very easy to understand. I used to use NEAT, but they require a monthly fee which I refuse to pay. I had to buy a program separately to use for receipts and it was complicated. I'll use it until it wears out but am not happy with it. Also, the way to scan a two page document is very complicated.
Does not work on Windows 10. Read fine print! Brother does not have a software driver for this to work on Windows 10. That is mentioned in the description but just assumed it would work with current version of Microsoft Windows. Disappointed that Amazon gives this product the Amazon's Choice endorsement when it is an antiquated version in the marketplace.
