Rhett Hallows did a right hip replacement and made my right leg 1" longer than the left one. It caused severe pain in my ankles, knees, hips, and back. He even knew there was a problem and wouldn't fix it. Four months later, another doctor saw the anomaly, saw I was miserable, and performed a revision. I had to wear a plastic brace for 3 months. I have never once asked to have a different physician until my appointment with Dr. Miller yesterday. He walked in with no introduction, didn’t review my scans with me, and didn’t provide any reasoning behind his suggested course of action. He would have had me out the door in legitimately 30 seconds if I hadn’t asked any clarifying questions. When I did so, he cut me off mid-sentence to give a flippant response, and then he said “I can tell you’re anxious.” What a terrible experience.
If you are looking for someone to spend alot of time with you, forget it. I had plantar faciitus surgery and had my throat collapse, do you think he or anyone shared that with me, also he did not put it in my report.
I really hate to give Dr. Alves a one star when everyone else had such a great experience. My experience was not too good. But during my video appointment Dr. Alves was confused at the fact of why I was seeing her, she was extremely rude to me and did not help me with a pain plan. Dr Hallows has ruined my hip and life. He replaced my right hip on 9/11/2019. He casually didn't give me any hip precautions. It dislocated first in October and then he finally gave me hip precautions. Nevertheless, the hip dislocated again a month later in November of 2019. At that time he acknowledged that the implant was the wrong size and was in a wrong angle and it would dislocate again and again. I will not ever see him again. I have a minor but painful injury that interferes with life. He seemed decided in his diagnosis, and I trust what he described as the problem and the possible solution. However, he headed for the door as soon as he provided instructions; I had to call out my question as he opened the door. All in all, he seemed rushed and bothered, without an ounce of empathy.
Doctor prescribed my mother an NSAID when he knew she was on Lithium. This could have very well put her in the hospital with Lithium toxicity, and is baffling to me that he could make this first year medical student mistake. Staff was cavalier when I reported the issue and didn't even understand what the issue was, confusing it with liver toxicity. Stay away!
I waited more than half an hour past my appt time in the exam room with no communication about the wait, then the doctor spent less than 5 minutes with me. He focused much more on my weight than on my injury. I left feeling many times worse than when I went in. Terrible bedside manner. Will never return to EmergeOrtho.
Disaster, scheduled for shoulder replacement. Day of surgery after anesthesia started. Surgery cancelled. His nurse in office totally abusive. My dogs get more competent and professional care. Do your homework.
