I have been robbed multiple times and their security cameras don't produce good enough videos so the police can take action. Their company policy is not to call the police and let the customer call which costs valuable time. They have also let homeless live inside buildings -- I had to complain about urine smell recently. I can not even sue in civil court since extraspace won't show me the videos. Worst storage ever thought this place was supposed to not have people break in to your lockers. Manager is so disrespectful to me. They were good while it lasted but now to me worst place ever.

Our storage locker was broken into and half of our things were stolen. Management falsely claimed that they notified us when they did not, so we continued to pay monthly fees. The staff was completely unsympathetic and only interested in avoiding any financial liability. Filed a police report to file a claim with my insurance company and was told that this storage facility has more burglaries than any other in Hayward. The only reason for 2 stars is that I didn't have my stuff stolen...yet. The check in and set up process was quick and painless. Got my lock and moved in within an hour of reserving online just by walking in to the office. But once I came in for a day to actually move some small amount of stuff in - and get a feel for the place - I quickly realized maybe I should've taken more time to get to know the place. Do not get a storage unit here unless you want your stuff stolen. They had a series of break-ins from November to now and over $5000 of my items were stolen of which the insurance will only cover $2000. The thieves are other customers who have access to the gate codes and door locks. The insurance is a joke because they want receipts for everything and calculate depreciation on your items. We'd booked this place based on the 4.8 stars they somehow have on Google Maps. I'm sitting in front of our unit right now and ashamed we decided to store our values possessions here. We are here moving our stuff in right now, and not thrilled about leaving our nice furniture in a storage facility covered in rat traps with homeless people living in the outdoor units. Only had my unit for three weeks before someone cut my lock off and took a third of my stuff. They say "we consider security our top priority" and yet 13 out of 39 reviews complain about break-ins and theft.

Honestly, I found another lock in my storage which I never had. I think I get enough warning. Someone, open my lock and gets in to take a look. Also leave enough warning

Stored here for one month and let the front office know several times it would be for 1 month only. Moved out a few days before my move out date and was told to simply leave the unit clean, door open and I would be moved out. I was not moved out and charged and additional month. I called in and spoke with a store manager. He refunded the charge and assured me that I was moved out. Today I was charged again for another month, and had to call back again!
